Artist Spotlight: Denise Yaghmourian, 2nd Place Winner of the 25th Annual Juried Awards Exhibition!

Her winning sculpture, “Little Desert Preserve” (recycled nylons, cactus fibers and structures, thread, and embroidery floss varieties, 34”x18.5”x18.5”, 2025), is on view at Artlink’s mood room gallery at Park Central through October 16.

In the artist’s words:

“I work with fiber, thread, textiles, and found materials to create installations that transform the familiar into something contemplative and tactile. Inspired by the textile traditions of my Armenian grandmother, I use repetition, labor, and handwork to slow perception and reveal the physical and sensory qualities of everyday materials. Light, texture, and accumulation are central to my process, allowing each piece to hold memory, care, and quiet intensity. Through this work, I explore how material can carry both personal history and shared experience.”

Attention artists! The Summit at Copper Square, in partnership with Artlink Inc, invites local artists to submit existing work for the 6th Cycle of The Summit Collection Exhibition in Downtown Phoenix.

Selected artwork will be displayed in The Summit’s renovated lobby and common areas, with opportunities for purchase by residents, guests, and The Summit Art Fund!

• Media: Paintings, photography, sculpture, ceramics, textiles, printmaking, mixed media & more
• Eligibility: Metro Phoenix artists registered as an Artlink Articipant (artlinkphx.org)
• Submissions: Up to 3 existing, ready-to-hang works

Artist Spotlight: KJ Herb (k.J. herb) - Best in Show Winner of the 25th Annual Juried Awards Exhibition!

Her winning piece, “I DON’T WANT TO FORGET” (Archival Inkjet Print and Print Scraps, 32.5x23, 2025), is currently on view in Artlink’s mood room gallery at Park Central through October 16.

In the artist’s words:
“I was diagnosed with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder in 2022, but I first heard the Second Narrator speak to me decades before. Since being diagnosed with OCD, my photographic work has pivoted to an investigation of my own intrusive thoughts. What often feels like an omnipresent being who whispers fortune-telling truths in my ear is, in actuality, only a brain filtration issue. My brain lacks the ability to differentiate necessary and unnecessary fearful thoughts, so I am left with an abundance of alternate endings to sift through every day. Wake, sift, and repeat until sleep graces me.”
