Ah...but I could remember the nights we had more than 55 guys at a meeting. There was an African American Theater Group that came a did a play for us. Loren Evans and I did a four or five-week chapter by chapter discussion of a book about being gay that was well attended. We've had discussions of wine and tea led by a professional in those areas. Urologist and psychologists and attorneys specializ
ing in gay-related matters come and made presentations. Dr. Peck led many discussions on great subjects of interest. We were large enough to split into groups and have smaller group discussion and then bring them back to the larger group to report on what we had learned. We've had movies, and transgender nights, religious leaders and politicians come and talk about lots of interesting subjects. We had Toy Stories I, II, and III when Patrick Kelly of Off Chute Too brought and demonstrated toys for us and we even had a leather and bo***ge night. I still have the bo***ge rope I bought at Home Depot in Mesa after that meeting. (I asked they guy where he kept his bo***ge ropes, and without batting and eye he waived me toward where they were!) We've also had flops here and there, but those are harder to remember. We didn't realize how many artists we had in the group until we offered an evening for them to talk about their art and 8 guys brought examples and showed off their talents. We got together with Arizona Stonewall Democrats and went to bars and registered voters. When we lost one of our venues we had a meeting or two in a dinner theater to see if that would work. We've had 50 potlucks over the years and will soon be approaching our 450th meeting in the almost nine years we've been at this run.
