Men's Arts Council

Men's Arts Council Men’s Arts Council (MAC) was founded in January of 1967 to support the programs and activities of the Phoenix Art Museum. Admission is by invitation only.

Who We Are. Men’s Arts Council (MAC) of Phoenix Art Museum was founded in January of 1967 to support the programs and activities of the Phoenix Art Museum. With the talents and efforts of its over 200 members, MAC organizes three distinctively different annual events: the Bell Lexus North Scottsdale Copperstate 1000 vintage car road rally, the Copperstate Double Gun, and the Copperstate Overland v

intage off-road rally. In addition, MAC members provide help in a variety of ways at the Phoenix Art Museum. What We Stand For. The efforts of the Men’s Arts Council enables the group to make annual contributions to the Museum’s operating budget, to financially sponsor exhibitions, and to fund two separate endowments: the Western American Art Endowment Fund and the Men’s Arts Council Sculpture Endowment Fund. These endowments exist to fund acquisitions, support exhibitions, and foster art education at the Museum. As of 2012, MAC’s cumulative financial contribution to Phoenix Art Museum exceeded $10 million.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the MAC & PMAC End of Year Celebration at Phoenix Art Museum!

It was a great evening of cocktails, dinner, awards, the MAC ARTpick, ARTenders open bar and distributor tasting, open exhibits, and plenty of cowboy hats.

A special congratulations to our newest class of PMACs, who officially received their cowboy hats and became MACs. We’re excited to welcome you into the next chapter of service, support, and community with the Men’s Arts Council.

We also want to congratulate Terry Rochford once again on being named MAC of the Year. Terry’s 33 years of dedication, leadership, and behind-the-scenes service have made a lasting impact on MAC and the future of the organization.

The evening also gave us the opportunity to celebrate the 2025 MAC ARTpick, Reflection Between Flashes by Nguyen. This important acquisition helps expand representation of contemporary Southeast Asian artists in the Phoenix Art Museum Collection and strengthens the Museum’s Asian art holdings. Inspired by the kinetic works of Alexander Calder, the sculpture is cast from salvaged, unexploded munitions recovered in Central Vietnam, creating a powerful work of movement, history, and meaning.

Thank you again to everyone who attended and helped make this celebration such a memorable night.
