Men's Arts Council Men’s Arts Council (MAC) was founded in January of 1967 to support the programs and activities of the Phoenix Art Museum. Admission is by invitation only.

Who We Are. Men’s Arts Council (MAC) of Phoenix Art Museum was founded in January of 1967 to support the programs and activities of the Phoenix Art Museum. With the talents and efforts of its over 200 members, MAC organizes three distinctively different annual events: the Bell Lexus North Scottsdale Copperstate 1000 vintage car road rally, the Copperstate Double Gun, and the Copperstate Overland vintage off-road rally. In addition, MAC members provide help in a variety of ways at the Phoenix Art Museum. What We Stand For. The efforts of the Men’s Arts Council enables the group to make annual contributions to the Museum’s operating budget, to financially sponsor exhibitions, and to fund two separate endowments: the Western American Art Endowment Fund and the Men’s Arts Council Sculpture Endowment Fund. These endowments exist to fund acquisitions, support exhibitions, and foster art education at the Museum. As of 2012, MAC’s cumulative financial contribution to Phoenix Art Museum exceeded $10 million.

🏎️ Where art, automotive history, and the Copperstate 1000 come together.

2027 Copperstate 1000 Chairman Desi Allazetta, Gian, and Susan Driver, Curator of the Collection of Discount Tire and co-curator of Modern Treads: The Discount Tire Poster Collection, recently came together at Phoenix Art Museum to celebrate this incredible exhibition.

Presented by the Men’s Arts Council, Modern Treads features 15 oversized vintage posters from the Collection of Discount Tire, showcasing the artistry, innovation, and advertising that helped define the early automotive era.

If you haven’t seen it yet, there’s still time. Modern Treads is on view at Phoenix Art Museum through January 3, 2027.

What a way to kick off another year with the Men’s Arts Council! 🤠

Thank you to all of our MAC members and guests who joined us for Return of the MAC at Phoenix Art Museum. It was a great evening of catching up, celebrating our community, and getting another exciting season started.

We’re grateful to everyone who came out and helped make the night such a success. We can’t wait for another excellent year of art, camaraderie, and supporting Phoenix Art Museum together.

🍽️ The first MAC Lunch of the year is almost here!

Join your fellow Men’s Arts Council members on Tuesday, September 15 at 11:45 AM in Singer Hall at Phoenix Art Museum for lunch and a special presentation by award-winning Arizona artist Martin Moreno (Martin Moreno).

Martin’s work is deeply rooted in family, culture, history, and the experiences that shaped him growing up in a bilingual, working-class family. His murals, paintings, sculptures, and mosaics draw inspiration from the colors of Arizona’s agricultural fields and the stories and traditions passed down through generations.

A longtime advocate for Latino arts in Arizona, Martin helped found the Arizona Latin@ Arts and Cultural Center, was one of 12 artists featured in Phoenix Art Museum’s groundbreaking 2008 Locals Only exhibition, and was named Arizona Governor’s Artist of the Year in 2011.

🎨 Plus, don’t miss the ARTenders Sale from 11 AM–2 PM!

And remember: MAC lunches are a great opportunity to introduce a potential PMAC to the MAC experience. MACs and PMACs may bring a prospective member as their guest to up to two lunches between September and April.

🎶 SOUNDCHECK is BACK at Phoenix Art Museum! 🎶

The Men’s Arts Council is excited to welcome back one of Phoenix Art Museum’s most electric live music experiences — and September’s show features a true Arizona original: MEAT PUPPETS.

Formed in Phoenix in the early 1980s, Meat Puppets built a one-of-a-kind sound by blending punk, country, psychedelia, and plenty of Southwestern desert weirdness. Their influence reached a new generation when brothers Curt and Cris Kirkwood joined Nirvana onstage for the legendary MTV Unplugged performance.

More than 40 years later, the band is still pushing forward — and you can catch them live at PhxArt this month.
