Philabundance distributes food through partnerships with over 350 member agencies in 9 counties in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. In addition to food distribution, we strive to reduce food waste, increase access to nutritious meals, and tackle the root causes of hunger through programs such as the Philabundance Community Kitchen.

Starbucks employees volunteered at Philabundance’s South Philadelphia warehouse, sorting and packing food during the company’s Global Month for Good, which focuses on the impact that Starbucks employees, The Starbucks Foundation, and licensed business operators have on the communities they serve. Since 2016, Starbucks FoodShare has donated more than 144 million pounds of surplus food nationwide, helping reduce food waste and supporting people in local communities facing hunger.

Today is World Hunger Day, a global initiative to raise awareness and celebrate community-led solutions.

1 in 12 people across the globe live with chronic hunger. In our region alone, 1 in 8 people are food insecure.

Bricken for Chicken hit a milestone this year—more than 1 million Chik Fil-A nuggets were given out to fans for opponents’ missed free throws during Philadelphia 76ers home games! We’re grateful that together, the Sixers and Chik Fil-A shared $10,000 with Philabundance to celebrate.

As the cost of living continues to climb, more Pennsylvanians are turning to food banks to feed their families.

State programs like the State Food Purchase Program (SFPP) and the Pennsylvania Agricultural Surplus System (PASS) are critical to keeping shelves stocked with fresh, nutritious food while supporting Pennsylvania farmers and local economies. Last month, PCK Class #109 took a field trip to PCK employment partners Broad Street Love, Kimpton Hotel Monaco Philadelphia, and Forsythia.

During each visit, students toured the spaces, learned how each business operates, and saw what a service-industry internship looks like.

Last week, Philabundance Community Kitchen (PCK) hosted the annual press conference to announce this year’s Phan’s Feeding Families game on June 20!

Our dedicated partners at Citizens, GIANT, Aramark, TOYOTA, and the Philadelphia Phillies joined us as longtime friend of Philabundance Aaron Nola threw the first pitch to kick off the campaign.
