Did you know that one beautiful way to support FDR Park is by purchasing a custom-order flower bouquet?

Take a peek behind the scenes as we grow and create our bouquets. From planting and tending the flowers, to cutting and arranging them, and finally seeing them brighten a special event.

Every bouquet is a little piece of our park, grown and arranged with care. Thank you for supporting our park and helping us keep our gardens blooming!

This week’s Wildlife Wednesday highlights some of the wildlife captured by our park staff member, Laura!

- Beautiful Great Blue Heron
- Green planthopper – A small, sap-sucking insect that feeds on plant juices and can produce waxy, thread-like secretions.
- Carpenter bee – These large bees get their name from excavating tunnels in wood to make their nests. They’re also important pollinators!
- Two-spotted scoliid wasp – A beneficial insect enjoying goldenrod, a common late-summer nectar source.
- Bumble bees – Their fuzzy bodies help them pick up and carry pollen from flower to flower, making them important pollinators.
