Membea Bokwaongo Chief Bans Farming During Burial Days

The Chief of Membea Bokwaongo, HM Njie Mbonde Albert, has issued a royal decree prohibiting all farming activities on days when burials take place in the village.

The order, issued this month, states that the measure is rooted in the chiefdom's customs, constitution, and Cameroon's laws governing traditional authorities. Quarter heads have been tasked with ensuring strict enforcement of the directive.

According to the decree, the ban applies across the entire village and is intended to ensure respect for the deceased and uphold traditional burial practices.
