DIVINE FAVOR – PART 2

“And when the king saw Queen Esther standing in the court, she WON FAVOR in his sight, and he held out to Esther the golden scepter that was in his hand. Then Esther approached and touched the tip of the scepter.” – Esther 5:2 English Standard Version.

“When the turn came for Esther (the young woman Mordecai had adopted, the daughter of his uncle Abihail) to go to the king, she asked for nothing other than what Hegai, the king’s eu**ch who was in charge of the harem, suggested. And Esther WON THE FAVOR of EVERYONE who saw her.” – Esther 2:15 New International Version.

HELLO TREASURED FRIENDS and WELCOME to this week`s ATM (A Teaching Moment) Weekly in the precious name of our Lord Jesus, who [willingly] gave Himself [to be crucified] on our behalf to redeem us and purchase our freedom from all wickedness, and to purify for Himself a chosen and very special people to be His own possession, who are enthusiastic for doing what is good. (Titus 2:14 Amplified Bible).

A woman once had a dream in which she wandered into a shop at the mall and found Jesus behind a counter. “You can have anything your heart desires,” Jesus said to her. Astounded but pleased, she asked for peace, love, happiness, wisdom, and freedom from fear. Then she added, “Not just for me, but for the whole earth.” Jesus smiled and said, “I think you misunderstand me. We don`t sell fruits, only seeds.”

Everything God gives is in form of a seed. Our Lord Jesus was the seed of a woman (Genesis 3:15) and the Word of God is a seed (Luke 8:11) and as long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease. (Genesis 8:22 NIV).

Our responsibility is to receive the seed and sow it in the right soil with the right condition and nurture to produce the fruit that we desire. We are like that woman that wandered into the mall and suddenly want to become a wonder to her world by placing an order for peace, love, happiness, wisdom, and freedom from fear for her and the whole earth, but she was reminded that fruits are not sold here, only seeds!

DIVINE FAVOR is a powerful spiritual asset and divine seed that goes beyond hard work and connects us with divine orchestration making all things to work together for our good. (see Romans 8:28). However, receiving DIVINE FAVOR is not the license for indolence (laziness, idleness, slothfulness) but rather the reason to become diligent in our business (our pursuits).

In First Corinthians 15:10 AMPC, apostle Paul inspired by the Holy Spirit says, “But by the grace (the unmerited favor and blessing) of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not [found to be] for nothing (fruitless and without effect). In fact, I worked harder than all of them [the apostles], though it was not really I, but the grace (the unmerited favor and blessing) of God which was with me.” This Scripture reveals how the favor of God works together with the labor of man to produce an enviable result!

DIVINE FAVOR is made manifest by our active cooperation with the Holy Spirit by applying ourselves through corresponding action because faith which does nothing is useless. (James 2:20 God`s Word Translation). Faith without work (corresponding action) cannot be called faith. Faith without work is dead (James 2:26), and a dead faith is worse than no faith at all. True faith must manifest itself in the works of faith. True faith must inspire action.

We don`t keep our hands folded and go to sleep doing nothing because we have obtained DIVINE FAVOR but rather, like apostle Paul must apply ourselves to take corresponding action to manifest in fullness the favor of God bestowed on us because we have not received the favor of God in vain! (2 Corinthians 6:1 KJV). [To be continued next week].

Love you all. Have a blessed week!

JUNE 2026 – DIVINE FAVOR!

“Now in the SIXTH MONTH the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin’s name was Mary. And having come in, the angel said to her, “Rejoice, HIGHLY FAVORED ONE, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!” – Luke 1:26-28 New King James Version.

HELLO TREASURED FRIENDS and WELCOME a new month and to this week`s ATM (A Teaching Moment) Weekly in the precious name of our Lord Jesus, who died [willingly] for us, so that whether we are awake (alive) or asleep (dead) [at Christ’s appearing], we will live together with Him [sharing eternal life]. (1 Thessalonians 5:10 Amplified Bible).

Can you imagine how time flies? Just like a dream of the night we are now in the SIXTH MONTH, not in our own strength but by the help of God who made it possible for us to continue till this day (see Acts 26:22). The Lord has done this, and it is marvelous in our eyes. (Psalm 118:23 New International Version).

What about June 2026? Luke 1:26-28 New King James Version reveals: “Now in the SIXTH MONTH the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin’s name was Mary. And having come in, the angel said to her, “Rejoice, HIGHLY FAVORED ONE, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!” Welcome, HIGHLY FAVORED ONE into our month of DIVINE FAVOR!

Many years back while in medical school, after crossing over to the clinical aspect of my medical training, our class academic calendar was being continuously disrupted with several industrial actions that were gradually extending our graduation time and our class being a larger class compared to the previous sets added to the drama. It came to a point at which we have not written any major examinations in three years!

It was an incredibly challenging time and many of our colleagues whose parents are professors or highly influential people tried pulling all the strings they can to intervene but to no avail and they ended up tagging our large class, the disadvantaged class. We could have settled with this bad label but fortunately this bad label didn`t go down well with some of us that sensed a demonic manipulation and started seeking the face of God on the way forward and God gave us light!

Psalm 118:27 Amplified Bible says, “The Lord is God, and He has given us light [illuminating us with His grace and freedom and joy] …” The Spirit of God prompted me to take the lead understanding that I am in this class for such a time as this by divine election.

Acting on the light from God, I started having a one-on-one meeting with other spiritual leaders in the class and was able to mobilize them to have a special meeting of all the people of influence in our class who are children of God and right there under God, the destiny of our class was decided! We rejected the label of the disadvantaged class and replaced it with a new label, THE HIGHLY FAVORED CLASS!

At the meeting, we made a commitment to start having a prayer meeting every first Saturday of the month till our graduation and I kid you not, after our first prayer meeting which includes both believers and unbelievers, the plague ceased and the tide turned in our favor as we were allowed to continue having classes for the first time even in the middle of an industrial action.
When we started having lectures, an order came from the school authorities to stop us and many of our classmates were troubled and came to me for us to go and pray. I told them not to doubt the faithfulness of God who has answered our prayers. Another order came the following day for us to continue, and we continued our lectures until we wrote our major examination after three years of crossing over into the clinical part of our training!

Beloved, nothing flies like favor! The psalmist said, “By this I know that You favor and delight in me, because my enemy does not triumph over me.” (Psalm 41:11 AMPC). Friends, the evidence of DIVINE FAVOR is to triumph over the enemy and that is what our class experienced. It was not of our own doing but God`s favor at work on our behalf!

For He says to Moses, “I will have mercy on whomever I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whomever I have compassion.” So, then God’s choice is not dependent on human will, nor on human effort [the totality of human striving], but on God who shows mercy [to whomever He chooses—it is His sovereign gift]. (Romans 9:15-16 Amplified Bible).

All through this month by the grace of God and the help of the Holy Spirit, we will be diving deeper to unveil this all-important subject, DIVINE FAVOR (The FAVOR of God). [To be continued next week].

Love you all. Have a blessed week!

PERSISTENT FAITH – PART 5.

“For EVERYONE BORN of God is VICTORIOUS and OVERCOMES the world; and this is THE VICTORY that has CONQUERED and OVERCOME the world—our [CONTINUING, PERSISTENT] FAITH [in Jesus the Son of God].” – 1 John 5:4 Amplified Bible.

“Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for He is faithful that promised;).” – Hebrews 10:23 King James Version.

HELLO TREASURED FRIENDS and WELCOME to this week`s ATM (A Teaching Moment) Weekly in the precious name of our Lord Jesus, the one who is the First and the Last, who was dead but is now alive. [Revelation 2:8 New Living Translation].

Kenya's Kimani Nganga Maruge hit the headlines around the world earlier 2004 for being the oldest man in Kenya to start school at age eighty-four following the Kenyan government's announcement of free universal primary education in 2003 by the late Emilio Mwai Kibaki, the third president of the Republic of Kenya.

Kenya's government introduced free primary schooling in 2003, making it possible for Mr. Maruge to attend. Two of his thirty grandchildren attend the same school, but they are in more senior grades. Mr. Maruge said he never had the opportunity to go to school when he was younger. The great-grandfather won a place in the Guinness Book of World Records for being the oldest person in the world to start primary (elementary) school.

He said one of his main aims for starting school was to learn to count the money he expects to receive in compensation from the authorities for fighting against the British. He also hopes to learn to read the Bible - because he does not trust the version, he hears each week in church.

Maruge`s dream to become literate was never without resistance as depicted in The First Grader, a 2010 biographical drama film inspired by Maruge`s true story. Against fierce opposition from officials and parents, who did not want a precious educational place to be given to an old man, Maruge was accepted into the school to learn alongside the six-year-olds.

Even after he was forced to attend an adult learning center, where he soon finds himself surrounded by people with no motivation or ambition to study. Maruge vows to never go back to the adult institution and was able to return to the elementary school as a teaching assistant which was also resisted but he was reinstated when he went to plead his case before the board of education in the nation`s capital.

Supplementally, he was invited to make a speech before international leaders at the UN in New York regarding the power of education. He inspired a whole new generation of people to go to school for the first time. Maruge later died in 2009.

Maruge`s story is a contemporary example of PERSISTENT FAITH in action! A FAITH that does bow to resistance nor give in to the opposition. This is the kind of faith that the Lord Jesus Christ illustrated in Luke 18:1-8 with the widow and the Judge.

The Lord Jesus after the parable, which is about prayer said, “…Listen to what the unjust judge says! And will not [our just] God defend and avenge His elect [His chosen ones] who cry out to Him day and night? Will He delay [in providing justice] on their behalf? I tell you that He will defend and avenge them quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will He find [THIS KIND OF PERSISTENT] FAITH on the earth?” [Luke 18:7-8 Amplified Bible].

PERSISTENT FAITH is what we all need to turn our desires into reality, the odds against us notwithstanding because all things are possible for the one who believes! [Mark 9:23 New English Translation]. Author and Businessman, Justin Sachs said, “The more you are persistent in one area of life, the hungrier you become for persistence in other areas of your life.” And persistence is the common denominator that most successful people in the world have in common!

What can you do to become more persistent in your faith in God? What adjustment do you need to make in your life that will make you more persistent in your faith in God? As you sincerely evaluate yourself with these questions, you will develop a new level of awareness on how to become more persistent in your faith in God!

Love you all. Have a blessed week!

Second Timothy 4:3 Amplified Bible says, "For the time will come when people will not tolerate sound doctrine and accurate instruction [that challenges them with God’s truth]; but wanting to have their ears tickled [with something pleasing], they will accumulate for themselves [many] teachers [one after another, chosen] to satisfy their own desires and to support the errors they hold."

“However, when the Son of Man comes, will He find [THIS KIND of PERSISTENT] FAITH on the earth?” – Luke 18:8 Amplified Bible.

“Now the just shall live by faith; But if anyone draws back, My soul has no pleasure in him. But we are not of those who draw back to perdition, but of those who believe to the saving of the soul.” – Hebrews 10:38-39 New King James Version.

HELLO TREASURED FRIENDS and WELCOME to this week`s ATM (A Teaching Moment) Weekly in the precious name of our Lord Jesus who died [willingly] for us, so that whether we are awake (alive) or asleep (dead) [at Christ’s appearing], we will live together with Him [sharing eternal life]. (1 Thessalonians 5:10 Amplified Bible).

Wilma Rudolph’s transformation from a frail child to an Olympic champion remains one of the most extraordinary stories in sports history. Born prematurely and struck by polio, scarlet fever, and pneumonia, doctors told her that she would never walk again. But her mother, Blanche Rudolph, refused to accept that prognosis.

With her persistent faith in God and relentless determination, she massaged Wilma’s weakened leg every day, traveled long distances for Rudolph`s treatment, and spoke life into her daughter’s future.
Blanche believed not in what the doctors declared, but in what God could do. Her persistent faith became the soil in which Wilma’s resilience grew. Slowly, Wilma learned to walk. Then she learned to run. And eventually, she learned to fly.

Wilma often credited her mother`s persistent faith for her achievements, stating, “It is all thanks to my mother. She always let me believe that everything is possible if I really want it.” Blanche's encouragement and belief in her daughter's potential were instrumental in shaping Wilma's mindset, allowing her to overcome obstacles and pursue her dreams in athletics.

At the 1960 Olympic Games in Rome, Wilma Rudolph became the first American woman to win three gold medals in track and field. Her victories were more than athletic achievements—they were the visible evidence of a life transformed by the persistent faith of her mother who refused to give up but held fast to the profession of her faith in God without wavering! (see Hebrews 10:23).

Wilma’s story didn’t end with her medals. Her courage and elegance on the track ignited the dreams of countless young athletes—including the woman who would one day be called the fastest woman ever, Florence Griffith Joyner (Flo‑Jo).

Flo‑Jo often spoke of how Wilma Rudolph inspired her. She admired Wilma’s grace, her speed, and her ability to rise above adversity. Wilma showed Flo‑Jo—and the world—that a Black woman could dominate the global stage with power and poise.

That inspiration helped fuel Flo‑Jo’s own historic achievements, including her still‑unbroken world records in the 100m and 200m set at the 1988 Seoul Olympic games in South Korea. In this way, Wilma’s testimony created a legacy which became a foundation upon which future champions built their dreams. Her life beautifully affirms that persistent faith is contagious in nature! Wilma Rudolph’s triumph was a testament to what is possible when persistent faith in God is modelled clearly for others!

A strong Christian stands up for himself or herself, but a stronger Christian stand up for others! We not only triumph over challenges and adversities of life when persistent faith becomes our lifestyle, we also inspire others to dare to believe in God too!

Persistent faith doesn`t draw back no matter the raging of the storms and neither does it cower in the face of crisis but endured as seeing Him who is invisible (see Hebrews 11:27) for He is faithful that promised! (see Hebrews 10:23).

Anytime you are tempted to give up, think of others that are looking up to you and fixed your mind on God`s unfailing Word: “Looking away [from all that will distract] to Jesus, Who is the Leader and the Source of our faith [giving the first incentive for our belief] and is also its Finisher [bringing it to maturity and perfection]. He, for the joy [of obtaining the prize] that was set before Him, endured the cross, despising and ignoring the shame, and is now seated at the right hand of the throne of God. Just think of Him Who endured from sinners such grievous opposition and bitter hostility against Himself [reckon up and consider it all in comparison with your trials], so that you may not grow weary or exhausted, losing heart and relaxing and fainting in your minds.” (Hebrews 12:2-3 AMPC). (To be concluded next week).

Love you all. Have a blessed week!

Food for thought

I sat with my friend in a well-known porridge shop in a neighbouring town of Venice (Italy), the city of lights and water.

As we enjoyed our porridge, a man entered and sat at an empty table beside us.

He called the waiter and placed his order saying,

‘Two cups of porridge, one here, one on the wall.’

We heard this strange order with interest and observed that he was served with one cup of porridge but he paid for two.

As soon as he left, the waiter pasted a piece of paper on the wall saying

‘A Cup of porridge’.

While we were still there, two other men entered and ordered three cups of porridge, two on the table and one on the wall.

They had the two cups of porridge but paid for three and left.

This time also, the waiter did the same; he pasted a piece of paper on the wall saying, ‘A Cup of Porridge’.

It was something unique and perplexing for us.

We finished our porridge, paid the bill and left.

After a few days, we had a chance to go to this porridge shop again.

While we were enjoying our porridge, a poorly dressed man entered.

As he seated himself, he looked at the wall and said, 'One cup of porridge from the wall'.

The waiter served porridge to this man with the customary respect and dignity.

The man had his porridge and left without paying.

We were amazed to watch all this, as the waiter took off a piece of paper from the wall and threw it in the dust bin.

Now it was no surprise for us – the matter was very clear.

The great respect for the needy shown by the inhabitants of this town made our eyes well up in tears.

Ponder upon the need of what this man wanted. He enters the porridge shop without having to lower his self-esteem. He has no need to ask for a free cup of porridge without asking or knowing about the one who is giving this cup of porridge to him. He only looked at the wall, placed an order for himself, enjoyed his porridge and left.

This is true love, when you give from one hand and other hand does not know about it. May the Lord Jesus Christ help us all to INVEST in the poor and the needy.

PERSISTENT FAITH – PART 3.

“However, when the Son of Man comes, will He find [THIS KIND of PERSISTENT] FAITH on the earth?” – Luke 18:8 Amplified Bible.

“Now faith is being sure of what we hope for, being convinced of what we do not see.” – Hebrews 11:1 New English Translation.

HELLO TREASURED FRIENDS and WELCOME to this week`s ATM (A Teaching Moment) Weekly in the precious name of our Lord Jesus who was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification. (Romans 4:25 English Standard Version).

When Debbye was seven years old, her mother sat her down at the kitchen table and said, “You can’t get to heaven on my apron strings. You must know God for yourself. You must read the bible yourself. You must pray on your own….” So, as a young girl, she began a wonderful journey of learning and experiencing the love of God through Jesus.

Dr. Debbye Turner Bell’s path to the Miss America crown is one of the most inspiring persistence stories in pageant history. Though widely known for winning the Miss America Beauty Pageant, fewer people realize the years of repeated effort it took to reach that moment.

The best-selling author of Think and Grow Rich, Napoleon Hill said, “Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent." Debbye`s story is proof that persistence is not glamorous — it is gritty because dreams are not achieved by talent alone… they are achieved by persistency!

Talent opens doors. Persistence keeps you knocking until they open. She did not become Miss America overnight. She became Miss America after years of coming close — but not close enough. For her, almost is not the end and her faith in God with her mother`s positive influence inspires her to persist until she became Miss America 1990.

Debbye grew up in Jonesboro, Arkansas, where she began entering pageants to earn scholarship money. Over several years, she competed in numerous local and state competitions within the Miss Arkansas system. She won several local titles — including Miss Arkansas State University (1985), Miss White River (1986), and Miss Northeast Arkansas (1987) which qualified her for the Miss Arkansas state pageant three times.

At Miss Arkansas, she placed first runner‑up twice, demonstrating strong competitiveness but falling just short of the state crown needed to advance to Miss America. After not winning the Miss Arkansas title for the third time, she was broken and devastated in her hotel room and cried out to God: “I don`t understand, God! I don’t understand! I don`t understand.” And she heard God said to her, “Debbye, I`m faithful. Now get up.”

The following year (1988), she began veterinary school at the University of Missouri, which made her eligible to compete in the Miss Missouri system. In 1989, she won the Miss Columbia title, then Miss Missouri, finally securing her ticket to the national stage where she was crowned Miss America 1990 at the national competition in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

She became the first Miss Missouri ever to win and the third African‑American woman to hold the crown after eleven total pageants (local + state) across two states: Arkansas and Missouri with seven years of persistence. Her story is widely cited as one of the greatest examples of perseverance in the Miss America program.

Debbye once said, “Faith is the starting point of all achievement. It`s the basis for all miracles, and the only antidote for failure.” She strongly believes that any person has the potential for success no matter their race, socio-economic background, or gender. She uses her own life as an example of triumphing over the odds.

Dr. Debbye Turner Bell now ministers the Word of God, His purpose and deliverance to youth, singles, women’s groups, and church services nationwide. And she currently serves as Leadership and Discipleship Pastor at Kentwood Community Church in Michigan. I was privileged to have a one-on-one zoom call with her early this year and I am currently reading her book, COURAGEOUS FAITH: A LIFELONG PURSUIT OF FAITH OVER FEAR.

Beloved, God is no respecter of person (see Acts 10:34 and Romans 2:11). He is a respecter of PERSISTENT FAITH as demonstrated by Dr. Debbye Turner Bell who refused to let go of her dream of becoming Miss America against all odds.

Anytime you are tempted to give up, always remember that “For EVERYONE BORN of God is VICTORIOUS and OVERCOMES the world; and this is THE VICTORY that has CONQUERED and OVERCOME the world—our [CONTINUING, PERSISTENT] FAITH [in Jesus the Son of God].” (1 John 5:4 Amplified Bible).

EVERYONE BORN of God (including you) has what it takes to be victorious and overcome the world. All it takes is our PERSISTENT FAITH in Jesus the Son of God! (To be continued next week).

Love you all. Have a blessed week!
