Acts 13:36 Amplified Bible says, "For David, after he had served the purpose of God in his own generation, fell asleep and was buried among his fathers and experienced decay [in the grave]."
Is what you are living for worth dying for? Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. said, "Until a man has discovered what he can die for, he is not fit to live."
Many have forgotten that the force behind the advancement of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and the American Civil Right Movement was rooted in his relationship with God and not his oratory skills or college degrees for no one makes it in this life by sheer muscle! [1 Samuel 2:9 Message Bible].
Dr. King was a Baptist Pastor born originally as Michael King, but his father Martin Luther King, Sr. changed his name to Martin Luther King, Jr. in honor of the German reformer Martin Luther.
Like king David the great who knew that there is a cause for his life [1 Samuel 17:29] and SERVED God`s Will and Purpose and Counsel for his life in his own generation [Acts 13:36], Dr. King too knew that God had raised him up for that moment and he worked tirelessly to promote the cause he strongly believe in.
He traveled over 6 million miles from 1957 to 1968, delivered about 2500 speeches, and wrote 5 books and dozens of articles!
