Andrea Facusse, a Honduran visual artist and biologist, created her piece "Come Fly With Me" to reflect the experience of Latin diasporas and the rich culture and traditions that immigrants carry with them when they leave their homelands. In her own words, her artwork "honors the biodiversity of our cultures, the memories we carry, and the resilience that keeps us moving forward."

Creativity knows no borders. From music and literature to visual arts and cultural traditions, immigrant voices continue to enrich and inspire our communities.

🌱 Have extra produce from your home garden? Share your harvest with our community! 🥕🍅🥒

NSC’s Food Pantry welcomes donations of fresh, homegrown fruits, vegetables, and herbs. If your garden is producing more than you can use this Summer, consider donating your excess harvest to help immigrant and refugee families in our community access fresh, nutritious food.

If you’re interested in donating produce, please contact Claudia Merritt at [email protected] for more information.

This National Health Center Week, we're recognizing the community health centers that stand in the gap - especially as Medicaid eligibility narrows for refugees, asylees, and other immigrants starting October 1, 2026.

These centers are a vital access point for affordable primary care for immigrant families like those NSC serves. No one should have to choose between their health and their financial stability. We're equally thankful for our long-standing clinical partners across Philadelphia's academic medical centers, whose expertise and partnership have shaped the care our clients receive for years.

We're grateful for health center staff who show up with compassion and dignity every day. This week, and in the months ahead, we stand with them - and continue pushing for healthcare access that doesn't depend on immigration status.

NSC’s Family Literacy team recently enjoyed a wonderful day at the Please Touch Museum with caregivers and children from our program!

For one parent, the trip was especially meaningful. Before joining our program, she didn’t know the museum existed. Through lessons, conversations, and photos shared in class, she was inspired to visit with her son. During the trip, she shared, “Thank you for bringing us. My son is so happy!”
