"It’s probably not a surprise that many of our staff and volunteers have worked (or still work) in restaurants and bars. Of course, the VCP team loves food, but we also love connecting with people through food. While I was kicking some of this around in the office, I checked in with two of our long-time educators turned program managers who, like me, also worked in restaurants prior to working at Vetri Community Partnership."

This week, Vetri Cooking Lab students from six different schools gathered in the Teaching Kitchen for the Middle School Cook Off. 🌟

Split into four different teams, students came together to go head to head in a “Chopped” style competition, and this time the mystery ingredient was cinnamon. They had 50 minutes to plan and cook their meals with the array of ingredients provided. Three judges rated each team’s dish based off of teamwork, taste, texture, color, and the use of the mystery ingredient. It was a close competition, and while all of the teams did a fantastic job, came in first place overall for their incredible efforts! Great work chefs!
