Celebrate spooky season with The Secret Cinema! Come ready for chills, surprises, and a journey into the darker corners of Philadelphia’s beloved repertory film scene.

The Secret Cinema will be screening curated eerie short films and the 1939 Boris Karloff classic, The Man They Could Not Hang. Karloff plays a scientist who develops a machine that can bring dead people back to life. He demonstrates it by killing his willing medical-student assistant, intending to revive him—but the police arrive before he can complete the experiment. Karloff is convicted of murder and executed...and then, naturally, comes back from the dead himself and starts taking revenge on everybody who convicted him.

This unintentional comedy is a dead-serious presentation of an increasingly preposterous story featuring mad-scientist machinery, melodrama, and Karloff plotting elaborate revenge.

In the Upcycled Earring workshop, you'll learn how to transform upcycled materials into your own stylish earrings. In Spooky Printmaking, you'll get a hands-on demo of screen printing, spooky season style and create a mixed-and-matched print inspired by the season, on paper or fabric.

All of our Make-It-Friday workshops are BYO drinks and snacks, so bring your favorite beverage, grab a seat, and enjoy a laid-back night of making something with friends, or with new ones you'll meet in class.

We loved seeing new faces and old friends at this year’s Mt. Airy Arts Festival! Thank you for spending such a lovely afternoon with us and supporting the arts in our community!

To this year’s teaching artists, vendors and performers—thank you for sharing your creative talents with us!

It’s always an enormous collaborative effort that goes into putting on a festival. We could not have held such a wonderful event without our tirelessly hardworking staff, amazing volunteers, and our dedicated Board of Directors. Thank you to everyone who contributed their time and services! And we are especially grateful for our neighborhood partnerships. Thank you , for helping to secure the beautiful stage and sound for us and all the city services helping with the event! And shout out to our local firefighters from Ladder 21 who made their firetruck available to touch.

This year’s festival was made possible because of the amazing generosity of our sponsors. A huge thank you to:

.. and PayUSA

Every year the festival reminds us of what fantastic neighbors and friends we have in NWPhilly. Looking forward to gathering again soon!

Space is still available in our upcoming Day Off Camps on Friday, October 9.

When school is out of session, make the most of your children's day off with a day filled with creativity, fun, and discovery! Our Day Off Camps offer two exciting workshop options: Theater and Ceramics, with age-appropriate activities designed for campers ages 6-8 and 9-12.

In Theater, campers will explore acting through creative games, storytelling, movement, and imaginative play while building confidence, communication, teamwork, and self-expression.

In Ceramics, campers will get hands-on with clay, learning basic hand-building techniques like pinching, coiling, and slab construction while creating their own unique ceramic pieces. All materials are included, and finished pieces will be fired and available for pickup approximately two weeks after the workshop.
