In Philadelphia, “lemme get a slice-ah-plain” isn’t just an order. It’s part of the culture. Nobody walks into a neighborhood pizza shop and says, “I’ll have one slice of cheese pizza, please.” That’s how you get everybody in the place to turn around and look at you.

It’s slice-ah-plain. The guy behind the counter already knows. Into the oven it goes. Two minutes later, you’re handed a slice the size of a car hood on a paper plate fighting for its life. You fold it. The grease runs down your hand. The first bite burns the roof of your mouth into another dimension. You keep eating anyway.

No hot honey. No fancy toppings. No nonsense.
Just sauce, cheese, dough, and a napkin that never stood a chance.

The slice-ah-plain. One of Philadelphia’s most important food groups.

Hey Everyone!!! Bingo Night at Michael J Crescenz VFW Post 2819 is here and we can't wait to see everyone!!! Tonight you have James Long behind the mic calling bingo and Pattie Clayton tending bar!! We play 7 games, 50/50, food with 50/50 purchase (tonight is hot roast beef sandwiches!), coverall game and more!! Games start around 7 so come out tonight to break up the weekly routine and win some green!!!!
