Mea Ola's Place

Mea Ola's Place Non Profit rescue, sanctuary, rehabilitation, and therapeutic horsemanship. A division of Meas Outreach Programs Inc. EIN 33-1384938

We believe every life is special. Although we would like to save more, we save one at a time. Numbers is not our game, as we have many that even other rescues pass up because they are "unadoptable" for one reason or another. However, we have found that every single horse can be used in Equine Assisted Therapy, even if they are just a model for an exercise like anatomy or studying their behavior. A

s the old saying goes, "Someone else's trash is another's treasure". We love and treasure each and every life that comes to Mea Ola's Place. Our commitment to each horse is for life, whether that is by finding them a forever home, or providing one for them.

SCAMMERS ARE BACK. WE ARE NOT SELLING SHIRTS. PLEASE TAKE CARE AND DO NOT ALLOW THESE CRIMINALS TO TAKE ADVANTAGE. IT IS SO SAD THAT THEY TRY TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE AMAZING FOLLOWERS HERE.

Ann will still run the fund raisers for feed store Fridays and for unforeseen veterinary expenses - like Crush’s laceration - but we currently have no sales of shirts or merch planned.

We are always looking for sponsors and repeating donors of course. Reach out to Ann if this is something you might want to consider. ❤️❤️ Love you all!

Thank you!

Ten years ago today! The Blue Cut Fire.
It changed my life. I’ll never forget the stress, the fear and those we were able to help.
So many people came together to help those in need.
It forever impacted the way I feel when I learn of fires anywhere.
This picture was taken about 11:30 am 8/16/16, shortly after the fire broke out….
Three days and nights of evacuations that turned into months of MOP being a pillar in our community for those that lost everything.
We would do it all again if needed.
This morning I spent some time in silence and prayer for people and animals all over our country (and beyond) dealing with the affects of wildfires. And the flip side…. Floods.
Today I am so grateful it’s been 10 years without something like this here. ❤️

Well, Crush got an owie! The vet just left.
He broke a pipe panel and sliced the front of his fetlock. Can’t suture it so it is bandage changes every day for a while.
Antibiotics and pain meds.

If you’d like to contribute to the vet bill, we could surely use it. It’s $376 with injectable antibiotics. Plus, I’ll have to get some more wrapping materials. I have a couple days worth right now.

Well, this was a bit scary this afternoon! Supposedly the Fire Dept has a handle on it now.

It looks close (which it is) but it’s about 1/2 mile away.

Too close for comfort! And we are approaching the 10 year anniversary of the Blue Cut.💔

I had a surprise visit from my son Payton, Lily and Scarlett!

I needed that. I’ve been out of sorts lately being off work with another neck injury!

But, this was great. And the reactions from some of the horses he was close to were very interesting.

Rowdy talked to Payton like he was another horse. Spider ran to see him. Tilly was the most heartwarming one. Payton spent a lot of time with her when she was feral and then taming her. She literally melted, you can see it in her eyes! And Gasston was happy to see him too.

Here are some pics from today.

Wishing everyone a safe and happy 4th!
