🐾 Update on the little senior found on Apex in Atwell 🐾

Good news — we have picked him up, and he is safe with us.

This sweet old guy was found running down Apex in the Atwell community during the storm. He has been scanned, and he has no microchip.

An approved foster will be picking him up from us this evening, to hold him until his owners are found.

He does need to be seen by a vet — just for routine reasons, because of his age. He is older, and we want to make sure he is checked over properly.

He is really sweet!

If he is yours, or if you recognize him, please message Animals of the Pass Rescue. Please be ready to share photos or vet records so we can be sure he goes home to the right family.

Please share this post — somebody out there may be missing him. Thank you for helping us get him home.

🚨 BIG PROJECTS AHEAD: WE NEED YOUR HELP, PASS COMMUNITY! 🚨
At Animals of the Pass Rescue, we are gearing up for some huge hands-on projects across Banning, Beaumont, and surrounding areas—and we can’t do it without our incredible local supporters and volunteers! 🐾💙
🔨 1. Outdoor Colony Catio Build (Coming in the Next 2 Weeks!)
We are building a brand-new outdoor colony catio at our new location! We will soon be hosting workday builds and are looking for handy volunteers, builders, and helpers to help us assemble a safe, cozy outdoor space for our rescue cats.
🐈 2. Community Colony & TNR Projects
We are actively collaborating with a local colony and 21 feeders, while launching our own new TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) efforts in Beaumont and upcoming projects in Banning!
To keep up with these expanding colonies and humanely fix, vaccinate, and protect these cats, we urgently need donations or sponsorships for sturdy, humane cat traps.
🤝 How You Can Support:
Volunteer: Help us build the outdoor catio, assist with colony trapping, or offer transport support!
Donate Traps: Sponsor or donate humane cat traps so we can expand our TNR operations in Beaumont and Banning.
In-Kind & Financial Support: Donate towards spay/neuter surgery funds or supply essentials (canned food, kibble, cat litter, p*e pads, clean towels/blankets).
💬 Interested in volunteering for the catio build or donating a trap? Drop a comment below or send us a direct message—let’s make a lasting difference together!

🛍️ Hidden Gem Alert in Beaumont! 🐾

If you love finding incredible deals (especially while supporting a local business that needs our community's love), you’ve got to check out Ale’s Deals!

Located right here in town at 480 E. 6th St. in Beaumont, this wonderful shop has been open since August—and yesterday was actually $2 day! I stopped in looking for bargains for the Rescue and hit the jackpot:

I found some fantastic water fountains for the cats! 🐱💧

The store owner is one of the most amazing women you’ll ever meet. We instantly bonded over our shared love for animals and our furry family members. She has a great selection of clothes, but make sure you take a close look at the glass display cases to check out the gorgeous jewelry, perfumes, purses, and sunglasses. You’ll be amazed at what you find!

Let’s show Al’s Deals some major Pass-area love and help get the word out that they are open and ready for visitors.
Monday - Sunday
10:00 - 5:00

👉 When you stop by, make sure to let them know that Debbie from Animals of the Pass sent you!
You won’t be disappointed—come check them out for yourself! 👇📸

🚨 LOST DOG ALERT: 4th & George
Somebody needs to step up and claim this dog immediately.
He has been wandering the streets around 4th and George for three long days. We just scanned him—NO MICROCHIP.
When he finally let us close enough, the reality of his condition was heartbreaking:
Condition: He is in very rough shape and clearly neglected.
Details: He’s wearing a flea collar, but he is completely unaltered and unmicrochipped.
Behavior: Skittish, exhausted, and starving—we stepped in to give him food and water just to keep him going.
I would take him in myself in a heartbeat, but I’m currently stuck living in a motel while my home is being refurbished. Something tells me this poor guy belongs to someone in this exact neighborhood.
An animal shouldn't be left out here to suffer and fend for itself. If this is your dog, or if you recognize him, step up and do the right thing. Come get him or help get him to safety now!

Rescue Doesn’t Stop: Our Latest Update
Even while our rescue is in the middle of a major transition, our team never stops showing up for animals in need. Here is a look at what we’ve been up to across Beaumont and Banning, and what’s coming up next!

Beaumont Field Outreach & New Colonies
We recently stumbled upon a pregnant stray dog in Beaumont. After following her to make sure she was safe, we were able to track down her home. Once there, we found eight 2-month-old puppies! We also discovered multiple friendly, non-feral cats roaming the area. We spent several hours getting food and water bowls from the store and speaking directly with the residents. We made an agreement to take the kittens into our care to find them homes, provided the residents keep the adult pets and allow us to get them spayed, neutered, ear-tipped, microchipped, and vaccinated.

Once we finished there, Crystal joined us as we headed over to our regular colony in Belmont, where we feed once to twice a week. We are also preparing to address another colony soon in Beaumont. That brings us to three cat colonies in Beaumont alone that we are actively managing or taking on—and we haven’t even touched Banning yet!

Bob’s Wild Sunday Rescue
Last Sunday morning was one for the books! After spending the entire night at the hospital with zero sleep, we spotted a young dog running across Ramsey in Banning. A team effort—including a helpful DoorDash driver, Debra Brown, Cheyenne, and myself—kept him from getting hit by traffic. Running on empty, we tossed treats and sat down on the ground to calm him down. He came right up to us, and we easily slipped a lead over his head. A passerby recognized him and pointed us toward his home, where we met his owner.

His name is Bob! Bob is a young, wonderful boy who knows basic training and lots of tricks. His owner is moving and cannot take him. Today, we are doing a home check in Banning to see if Bob is still there. If the owner agrees to hold onto him for the next three weeks, we will bring Bob into our care, get him neutered, and find him a forever home!

Animal Action League & Unhoused Outreach
Earlier today, we met with an unhoused resident in an undisclosed area in Banning and took two dogs—one male and one female (who we suspect is pregnant)—straight to Repplier Park for the Animal Action League spay/neuter clinic. Plus, two cats currently in our care were also dropped off for their spay surgeries!
Surgery is underway today, and we are currently waiting to pick everyone up this afternoon once they are out of recovery. We were unable to get the third female in today, but we are working quickly to book her an upcoming spay appointment since we believe she is pregnant as well.

Property & Escrow Update
We are still deep in escrow! We had termite inspections today at both locations, and the other house will need to be tented. We are currently waiting on the appraisal and have the septic tank inspection scheduled for Monday. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers that everything goes smoothly so we are fully moved in by the end of next month!

Upcoming Foster & Kitten Visit
Monday Visit & Kitten Update: On Monday, our team is making a special trip to visit one of our incredible foster homes to check in on the baby kittens staying with them! We will be sharing photos and a full progress update right from our visit—stay tuned!

How You Can Help Support Our Mission
As an official 501(c)(3) tax-deductible nonprofit organization, every dollar you contribute goes directly toward medical care, vaccinations, spay/neuter surgeries, and food for animals in need across the Pass. With 8 puppies coming in, multiple cat colonies needing feed and TNR support, and ongoing transport, we need lots of teamwork and support right now!

The Harsh Truth Behind the Video (Please take the time to watch—it is a little long, but critical to understand)
When you watch this video of the Beaumont cat colony, it’s easy to smile seeing these little faces getting fed. But let’s be brutally honest: this is not a glorious life.
These aren’t puppies safely nursing in a backyard. These are vulnerable animals left to survive on the streets, fighting every single day against extreme heat, vehicles, starvation, and predators—both human and animal.
This colony is just one of many across Beaumont and Banning. We are stepping up to expand our mission into both communities, but right in the middle of kitten season, the need is overwhelming.
Feeding a colony without spaying and neutering isn’t helping—it’s contributing to the problem.
Building more shelters or bringing in temporary shelter help isn’t the cure either. Spay, neuter, and Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) is the ONLY permanent answer.
Friendly cats and kittens shouldn’t be left on the concrete—they deserve homes, barn placements, or socialization.
Feral cats deserve to be spayed, neutered, vaccinated, and managed responsibly so the cycle of suffering finally ends.
Spay and neuter services can’t just happen once or twice a month; they must be consistent and accessible.
Alongside our work helping unhoused pet owners and providing community resources, we are taking on these colonies directly. But we cannot do this alone. To launch these projects and keep them going, we need consistent funding from our community.
If this video touched your heart, let it move you to action. Help us break the cycle before another litter is born onto the streets.
