CASTING: DALE
BFG is casting the role of Dale for a short dramatic scene shooting near Beaumont on Sunday night, September 20.
The part was written for a man, but casting is open and dependent on audition, but we are looking for someone who can play broader comedy on film. If they are in 30's or 40's great, but we need someone who can play off a "gold tooth sleezebag."
Dale is a police informant and low-level criminal who desperately wants people to believe he’s smarter and more dangerous than he is. He’s funny, slippery, irritating and potentially lethal. The character has swagger, but we need to see the fear underneath when his story begins falling apart.
This is a dialogue-heavy two-person scene, approximately six minutes long. It will require strong timing, preparation and a brief, carefully rehearsed draw/disarm sequence.
We’ll have one half-day rehearsal before the shoot, including wardrobe, props, blocking and camera rehearsal. The shoot itself will be one night at a single exterior location.
If you’re interested, send me a headshot, résumé or acting background, reel if you have one, and your availability. You can message me directly here or at [email protected] for the script and additional details.
Please feel free to share with actors in the Inland Empire area.
