Nena brings the ball back. She just takes the scenic route. 🐾

That little detour is only part of this five-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer’s charm. Volunteer Jennifer picked her up from a shelter, and Nena has been showing us her playful, affectionate side ever since.

She’s enjoyed fetch with Doc, Emily, Auggie, and several other dogs. Volunteer Jim gave her a glowing review. Now she needs an active home with daily exercise, training, and plenty of attention.

Our new video also introduces ten-month-old GSP Bo and explains why choosing a dog means looking beyond age.

Sometimes rescue stories are about finding the perfect dog. And sometimes they're about two broken hearts finding each other and becoming a family again. For Maddie and River, they didn't have to lose each other, too.

A brisk walk. A few pets. Lots of dog kisses in return. Camilla makes a pretty good case for adopting a senior. 🐾

At about nine years old, this sweet German Shorthaired Pointer has been a wonderful houseguest since leaving the shelter. She is house-trained, crate-trained, and has gotten along well with the dogs she has met.

While she still enjoys being active, she's much easier than a two-year-old GSP. After her walk, she’s happy to have your attention and give you affection in return.

Meet Camilla in our new video, along with nine-month-old Ava and Fireman, a young dog receiving care at Arrow View Animal Hospital.
