*Bentley was born on 4-20-11 to the parents of Natisha Slunder and Curtis Dent with Gastroschisis (intestines on the outside of his belly).
*He was born in Evansville at The Women's Hospital. He was then life lighted to Riley Children's Hospital in Indianapolis.
*He had his first surgery as soon as he arrived in the NICU.
*The surgeons had to special make his silo to go around his intestines. He
had his small and large out when he was born.
*May 2, 2011, he had his second surgery. They pushed his intestines in within a few weeks and had to close it up by using sutures. After this surgery Bentley became very sick. He started to swell up like a balloon.
*June 6, 2011, he had a tunneled central line put in. Took them 3 tries before they finally put it in his groin area.
*June 22, 2011, was his major surgery day. Bowel resection.
*June 22, 2011, G-tube was inserted. Got to come home from the NICU in August of 2011. Came home with a feeding tube, oxygen, heart monitor.
*Throughout the years Bentley has overcome the oxygen & heart monitor.
*April 4, 2013, Left Inguinal exploration, orchiopexy, & circumcision.
*Has got his tonsils & adenoids removed as well.
*February 3, 2021, G-tube finally came out!
*February 8, 2021, Hip surgery was done to put screws in his hips to try to close the growth plates.
*June 29, 2023, Bi-lateral Hip Reconstruction done due to last surgery being unsuccessful. Along with bone graft being applied to the right hip. Along with lengthening the hamstrings and tendons. Ongoing Treatments that Bentley is currently receiving treatment/care for:
-Asthma (chronic lung disease)
-Behavior issues
-Cerebral Palsy NOS
-Cortical Visual Impairment
-Cerebral Palsy
-Dysphagia
-Gastrostomy status
-Hydrocephalus (no shunt)
-Microcephaly
-Impaired gait
-Multiple congenital anomalies
-Neuromuscular Scoliosis
-Scoliosis associated with other conditions
-Spastic hemiplegic cerebral palsy
-Tonsillar hypertrophy
