🌱 Life Skills Matter 🌱

Did you know that life skills are just as important as academic skills?

Life skills help children and adults become more independent, confident, and successful in everyday life.

These skills include:
✅ Following routines
✅ Making healthy choices
✅ Communication skills
✅ Problem-solving
✅ Personal hygiene
✅ Money management
✅ Social interaction
✅ Safety awareness
Every small skill learned today can become a stepping stone toward greater independence tomorrow.

At Pike County's Brighter Path, we believe success looks different for everyone. Whether it's learning to tie shoes, prepare a simple meal, communicate a need, or manage a daily schedule, every achievement deserves to be celebrated.

🌟 Progress is progress, no matter how small it may seem.

Together, we can help individuals build the skills they need to navigate life with confidence and dignity.

📢 COMMUNITY UPDATE: Indiana ABA Services Moratorium

We want to keep our supporters informed about an important change happening across Indiana.

The State of Indiana has announced a six-month pause on the enrollment of new ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) providers into the Medicaid program. This does NOT mean ABA therapy is ending, and it does NOT affect children who are currently receiving services through existing providers.

State officials have indicated that the pause is intended to allow for increased oversight, program evaluation, and efforts to ensure long-term sustainability of ABA services throughout Indiana.

At Pike County's Brighter Path, our mission remains unchanged. We are committed to creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for individuals with disabilities and their families. While we continue exploring future therapeutic and educational services, we will remain focused on building strong community partnerships, developing quality programs, and working toward a permanent home for our organization.

We understand that many families may have questions about what this means for the future of autism and special needs services in Indiana. We encourage families to stay connected with their current providers and continue advocating for the services their loved ones need.

Thank you for your continued support as we work together to pave the path to success for individuals and families throughout Pike County and beyond. 💙

🌈 June 1st – The Dream Is Becoming Reality! 🌈
Today marks the beginning of a new month, and we are excited to share that Pike County's Brighter Path is continuing to move forward one step at a time.

Our team is working hard behind the scenes to make this dream a reality by building partnerships, securing sponsorships, and working toward a permanent location that will serve individuals with disabilities and their families throughout Pike County.

Every conversation, every meeting, and every supporter brings us one step closer to creating a place where individuals can learn, grow, connect, and thrive.

As we continue this journey, we will soon be looking for dedicated volunteers, community partners, and donations to help bring our vision to life. Whether you can give your time, resources, expertise, or support, there will be many ways to make a meaningful impact.
