Twas the night before Christmas and all through the Fire Station, not a creature was stirring, except those Firefighters on duty. Helping Santa make his deliveries to all the good boys and girls!

From our families to yours, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year's! Our dedicated Local 5360 Members will be here to help in your time of need even when their family's are missing them this Holiday Season.

P.S. we hope it was Santa who snuck in and ate our donuts and drank our chocolate milk and not Perry Police Department!

We would like to send our collective thoughts and prayers to Deputy Chief Dan Munro and Battalion Chief John Munro and all their families, after the loss of their sister Tammie.

Tammie Sue Trefil, age 60, of, Ithaca, MI, passed away Saturday, December 6, 2025, at University of Michigan Health-Sparrow Lansing, MI, surrounded by family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at New Haven Church of the Brethren, Middleton, MI, on Saturday, January 10, 2026, from 2-8 P.M.
Tammie was born in Owosso, MI, on November 8, 1965, the daughter of Gerald A. Munro and Carolyne Mae (Henderson) Sawyer. She attended Merrill High School, and would go on to work various jobs in the area before becoming a full-time mother to her wonderful children. Tammie married the love of her life, Darrin "Buzz" Trefil on May 4th, 2011, in Ithaca, MI, after spending 20 years together. They were married for over 14 years.
Tammie loved to hang out with friends, family, and fur babies. You could always find her up north with her extended family during the summer time. Tammie was a fighter, and a very strong-minded woman. She was a caretaker to everyone in her life, and was never afraid to speak her mind. She was the type of person who would give you the shirt off her back, or just be there for you during a time of need.
She is survived by her husband Darrin "Buzz" Trefil; her children: Kellie Jo Dicken, Shelbie Dayle Williams, Tyler Andrew Dicken, and many other children in her life; her grandson Jacob Andrew Feichtenbiner; her brothers: Dannie (Karen) Munro, Mike (Kay-Lani) Munro, John (Dawn) Munro, Albert (Brenda) Sawyer, and Clinton (Shannon) Sawyer; many nieces and nephews; and her fur baby Miggy Jean. Tammie is preceded in death by her parents, her cousins: Deb Munro, John Munro, and Sherry Munro; and her best friend John Melow.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Kathy Dicken and Sharon Williams for always being mother figures to Tammie throughout her life.
Memorials may be made to the wishes of the family. Online condolences may be sent to www.smithfamilyfuneralhomes.com. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, Ithaca, Michigan.

We would like to take a moment to congratulate our Union VP and fellow Firefighter/MEDIC Captain Brandon Fall! He passed National Registry and is officially a Paramedic!

Brandon embarked on the journey to Medic a year ago with everything he had while juggling life and the job and went as far as to tie for top of his class in the process. Great job, Brandon! Keep up the amazing work!

Your L5360 Staff would like to send another huge congratulations to our Administrative Assistant Susan East McGahey for passing her National Registry Test for Medical First Responder! Susan works full-time making sure our office needs are always fulfilled and that things run smooth. All while still going to everyone of her Son's and Daughter's events and volunteering her time in many other ways. She saw a need to add to her already impressive resume to better help the community and she rocked it out just like we knew she would! Susan is a great asset to our department and we appreciate everything she does for our department and this great community we serve!

Congrats Susan and feel better!

As some of you may know and others may not, our department is a combination Paid On-Call and Full-Time department. Meaning we have staff covering 24/7/365 and staff on stand-by waiting for a pager to go off while being at home or at work. Our Paid On-Call staff help keep our organization running just as much, if not more than our Full-Time staff at times! These dedicated Paid On-Call staff members train and take extra classes and do all the things our Full-Time staff do while working other jobs; isn't that crazy? Well we'd like to send a huge Congratulations to one of our most dedicated Paid On-Call members Acting Lieutenant/ Engineer Chad Chad M Fuller! Chad works fulltime at Luft's Garage next door to the station and helps out with his two kids sports and academics all while ensuring our Fire Apparatus are in tip top shape at all times. Even while doing all that he has found the time to take our last Emergency Medical Responder Course and the results are in! Chad is now an official National Registry Emergency Medical Responder! Chad, thank you for the countless hours spent making our organization better and to your family, thank you for sharing him with us! We wouldn't be as well off with you sir! Let's give Chad a round of applause! Be sure to congratulate him when you see him out and about!

Respectfully,
Brandon Fall Captain EMT-B

Please join the Shiawassee Firefighter Annual Pig Roast today, 9/13, 3pm - 10 pm.

This pig roast means a lot, last night (9/12) our group lost one of our members and fellow retired firefighter brother Ross Stanley who served on Owosso Fire/EMS.

Please come help support our group and give this year's pig roast a tribute to Ross and his service.

Today we pause to remember and honor those we lost 24 years ago. May we never forget.
