Meet our Poster Boy for the 2026 Dock Jam medals!!!

It’s TORRENT! 😍🥰 Torrent’s mom Deb Hebeler helped him answer some questions so you all can get to know him!

Favorite activity: It's a toss up between biting decoys and dock jumping.

If he had a profession what would it be: Bouncer at a Bar

Achievement you’re most proud of: Being invited and participating twice in Purina Incredible Dog Challenge regionals for distance in dock jumping.

Naughtiest moment: Picking a fight with his housemate and losing part of his ear in the fight.

Favorite memories: When he was born and when he jumped his longest distance of 29' 4"

Any other things we should know: Torrent loves all people. Doesn't like other dogs, only his mother. Is startled by snakes, feathers and dog toe nail clippings.

Our poster pup for the Dock Jam medals changes every year!! It could be your dog next year!! The only requirement is that we get a good photo of your dog from one of our Dock Jams (and have permission from the photographer to use the photo). We choose the dog for the medal based on whether they will be in attendance for that Dock Jam and how well the picture fits the vibe of our event!!

MPDC is so proud of our club members, friends and fellow competitors who were invited to participate in the UKC Nosework Hall of Fame this past Thursday!

To be invited to the UKC Nosework Hall of Fame, you must have earned an Elite Nosework title, overall Nosework Champion title or overall Nosework Grand Champion title during the previous year. Once you earn the latter, you and your pup have a standing invite to the Hall of Fame competition!!

We were thrilled to have a whopping SIX club dogs invited this year!! While Carole Field’s little Nasty Girl (Parson Russel Terrier) stayed home so her brother Ritter could compete, she still earned that invite by earning her EN in 2025! She was not only the smallest but also the first of our dogs to earn that coveted title at the beginning of 2025!

Bonnie and Griffin are students of Deb Kramer and I know Deb joins us in beaming with pride at Team Griff’s awesome performance Thursday!! 🥳💪

Thank you so very much to the Dog Scent Sports Club of Joliet for running the Nosework Hall of Fame this year. You did a wonderful job, everything was communicated so well and your club members were so nice and helpful! A huge thank you to judges Kim Dykestra, Sandra Carbonell, Keri Goff and Laura Denison for all their hard work and fun, fair searches! And last but not least thank you to the trial secretary, stewards and volunteers for an exceptional event. We had a blast playing sniffy games with our dogs!!

We’re so very proud of our club members and their dogs for being part of such an elite nosework competition and can’t wait to see what the next year brings!

Whew, what a weekend!! 🤩😍

Yesterday we went back to Lowell, Michigan for Day 2 of Malicious Intent K9’s Welcome to the Jungle Protection Tournament and it didn’t disappoint!

We got to watch the Advanced teams and more Intermediate and Beginner teams run, as well as the puppy runs! 🥹🥰

There were some absolutely amazing teams on the field this weekend and it was a joy to watch. From the puppies and beginner teams to the advanced teams expertly handling their dogs through a lot of pressure and intense scenarios, we were so impressed with everyone this weekend.

Huge congratulations to our fellow competitors and thank you, thank you, THANK YOU to Malicious Intent K9 for hosting an incredible trial. Thank you to the amazing decoys for your great work with the dogs, for braving the heat and bites with smiles on your faces and for switching to training mode when needed to make sure all dogs succeeded and had a great experience! And thank you to judge Marina Suggs for braving the heat herself all while giving all the teams fair judging, and a smiling, encouraging face on the field!

What a wonderful event that we’re hoping becomes an annual tradition!! Great work over there, Nino, Taylor & team!! 🤩💪🔥

Congratulations to our club member and protection class teams that stepped onto the field Sunday!! You all had great runs with your pups and we’re so proud of you all for setting foot on that protection field and giving it your all!! Way to go!! 🥳❤️

Congratulations to all the dog and handler teams who stepped onto the field today at Malicious Intent K9’s Welcome to the Jungle protection tournament! 🥳

We were so proud of our club members and protection students for getting out there and running their dogs. It takes courage to set foot on a trial field and everyone brought their A game! From our first time competitors to the seasoned protection trial veterans, these teams rocked it! 🔥💪

We saw some really nice obedience, clean outs, full bites and lots of handlers helping their dogs succeed. And most importantly, we saw all the teams out there having a BLAST together!!

Thank you so very much to Malicious Intent K9 for hosting such an awesome trial, to the decoys for safe catches and letting our dogs use you as chew toys, to the judges for standing in the sun for hours so that we can have fun with our dogs, and to all our fellow competitors and volunteers behind the scenes who contributed to a wonderful day of protection fun! We had a blast and can’t wait to come back tomorrow!
