Good food, great company and a shared commitment to our community! Thank you to the City of Pensacola - Government for kicking off its United Way of West Florida campaign with a cookout and a reminder that when we come together, we make a difference. United is the Way!

Our President and CEO Laura Gilliam, Santa Rosa County School District Superintendent Dr. Karen Barber, and our new Director of Philanthropy Don Ruth joined an evening celebrating the Milton High School Black and Gold Band, Central High School Jaguar Band, and Jay High School Royal Pride Band.

The concert raised more than $1,000 for UWWF’s Recovery Fund to support local families impacted by Hurricane Isaias. Thank you to these talented students and their communities for making a difference!

When learning comes to life, magic happens in the classroom! 🐍✨

Today, students at O.J. Semmes experienced an unforgettable in-school field trip with Animal Tales, LLC. Thanks to our Healthy Schools Escambia program, funded by Escambia Children's Trust, every single student across the school had the opportunity to get up close with wildlife, ask big questions, and spark their curiosity.

From wide-eyed wonder to hands-on discovery, experiential learning creates moments that stay with children long after the school day ends.

United is the Way.

Great communities are built when people come together to make a difference.

Our 2026 Day of Caring Meet and Greet was a huge success. Thank you to all our site hosts and volunteer team leads for joining us and preparing to lead the charge across our region.

We also want to give a special shoutout to our incredible Day of Caring Committee members for their hard work behind the scenes. Big thanks to Olive Baptist Church—Pensacola Campus for providing a fantastic venue, and to Chick-fil-A Nine Mile Road and Krispy Kreme Doughnuts for fueling our team with delicious food and sweet treats.

It's not too late to join the biggest single day of volunteerism in our region! We still have a few projects that need volunteers to cross the finish line.

Sign up your team or register as an individual today at uwwf.org/dayofcaring!

Together, United is the Way.

United Way of West Florida will serve as the coalition’s fiscal agent, supporting this important work to build a healthier, safer future for our youth.

We’re proud to partner with organizations working to help young people thrive and prevent substance use before it starts.
