🚨 ELEVATED WILDFIRE RISK TODAY – FRIDAY, OCTOBER 30 🚨

🔥 Clearfield County & Surrounding Areas 🔥
The National Weather Service in State College has issued an alert for an elevated risk of wildfire spread across much of Central Pennsylvania today.

🍂 What’s causing the increased risk?
* Continued dry conditions and lack of rainfall
* Low humidity levels around 30%
* Northwest wind gusts of 20–30 mph

⚠️ What does this mean?
With dry leaves, grass, and other vegetation covering the ground, even a small spark could quickly turn into a fast-moving fire.

🚒 The Penfield Volunteer Fire Department urges everyone to use extra caution today!
✅ Avoid outdoor burning.
✅ Properly extinguish and dispose of ci******es.
✅ Use caution when operating machinery or equipment that could produce sparks.
✅ Never leave any open flames unattended.

🔥 Remember: It only takes ONE spark!

Please do your part to protect our homes, wooded areas, community, and first responders.
📢 Stay alert, stay safe, and help us prevent wildfires before they start!

❤️🖤 Behind every uniform is a person. Behind every badge is a story. Behind every first responder is a family praying they make it home.

When the call comes in, they answer. It doesn’t matter the time, the weather, the holiday, or what they may be leaving behind.

They run toward the danger while others run away. They witness things most of us could never imagine. They sacrifice sleep, family dinners, birthdays, holidays, and moments they can never get back — all for the chance to make a difference in someone else’s life.

And sometimes, the people they’re rushing to help are complete strangers.

They don’t do it for recognition. They do it because someone needs them.

Today, on National First Responders Day, the Penfield Volunteer Fire Department would like to recognize the firefighters, EMTs, paramedics, law enforcement officers, dispatchers, and all those who dedicate their lives to answering the call.

To those who serve, those who have served, and those who made the ultimate sacrifice — we thank you.

To the families waiting at home, listening for the sound of a vehicle pulling into the driveway — your sacrifices do not go unnoticed.

And to our brothers and sisters in emergency services: May you always have the strength to answer the call, the courage to face the unknown, and the blessing of returning home safely.

❤️🖤 Not all heroes wear capes. Some wear turnout gear, scrubs, uniforms, and headsets. But every one of them has someone waiting for them at home.

Happy National First Responders Day. 🚒🚑🚓📞
