Congratulations to Matthew McBride on earning his Pennsylvania Department of Health EMS Instructor endorsement!

When Matt first came to BSTC, he was looking for an opportunity to begin his journey as an instructor. We were proud to help him take that first step by providing the training and support needed to become a CPR Instructor.

Matt didnโ€™t stop there. He continued pushing forward and took advantage of the opportunity to become a Pennsylvania Department of Health EMS Instructor. Through that same educational process, he also earned his Fire Instructor certification.

Over the past several months, Matt successfully completed his required student teaching hours with BSTC, demonstrating professionalism, dedication, and a genuine passion for educating future providers. His commitment to learning and teaching has been impressive to watch.

We are proud of everything Matt has accomplished and look forward to seeing the impact he will have on EMS and fire service education. We are excited that he will continue to be a valuable asset to BSTC and the communities we serve.

Please join us in congratulating Matthew McBride on this outstanding achievement! ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿš‘๐Ÿ”ฅ

This past weekend, 15 EMT students completed 18 hours of training over two days. The first day consisted of 9 hours of hands-on instruction and hard work.

Students carried one another down stairs, through wooded areas, and across various types of terrain. They practiced moving and operating stretchers with weight on both smooth and rough surfaces, removed patients from vehicles, and performed trauma assessments. They learned the importance of hands-on patient assessment in EMS, understanding that proper patient care requires physically assessing patients rather than being afraid to make contact. Additional training included bleeding control, medical assessments, and patient interviews.

The class also completed CPR certification training.

It was a physically and mentally demanding weekend, but the students rose to the challenge and demonstrated excellent effort throughout the program.

To cap off the weekend, everyone enjoyed lunch together both days, providing an opportunity to relax, build camaraderie, and strengthen the teamwork that is so important in EMS.

Itโ€™s amazing what Facebook can do!

A huge thank you to Glory Bee Sweet Treats for a significant donation all the way from Michigan to help feed our EMT students during class this weekend.

What started as a simple Facebook post reached beyond Pennsylvania and connected us with a business that believes in supporting education, first responders, and the future of EMS. We are truly grateful for their generosity and willingness to invest in students they may never even meet.

If youโ€™re ever in the Haslett, Michigan area, keep an eye out for Glory Bee Sweet Treats products at local retailers, including Horrocks Farm Market, Westside Deli, Meijer Market Format, and other locations.

Thank you for helping us ensure our students have one less thing to worry about while they focus on learning the skills needed to serve their communities. Your support means more than you know! ๐Ÿš‘โค๏ธ๐Ÿช๐Ÿง

๐Ÿšจ Lunch Sponsors Needed This Weekend! ๐Ÿšจ

Bender Safety & Training Corporation is looking for individuals, businesses, churches, organizations, and community groups willing to help provide lunch for our EMT students this weekend.

๐Ÿ“… Saturday, June 13, 2026
๐Ÿ“… Sunday, June 14, 2026

We will have approximately 23 EMT students and Instructors spending all day in class learning the skills needed to serve their communities as emergency medical providers.

Lunch can be as simple as pizza, subs, sandwiches, pasta, hot dogs, hamburgers, or any other meal. If youโ€™d like to donate burgers, hot dogs, buns, chips, drinks, or other cookout items, we can grill and prepare them at our training center.

Honestly, anything that helps feed our students is appreciated.

As a rural training center in Weedville, dining options are limited and most restaurants are 15 minutes or more away. Providing lunch helps students stay focused on their education, reduces costs, and keeps them in the classroom learning.

Monetary donations designated for student meals are also welcome.

If you or your organization would like to sponsor lunch for either June 13 or June 14, please comment below, send us a message, or email [email protected].

Thank you for helping support the next generation of EMTs and strengthening EMS in our rural communities. โค๏ธ๐Ÿš‘

Our friends at Cameron County Ambulance Service, Inc are doing great things!

Our friends at Cameron County Ambulance Service, Inc are doing great things!

๐Ÿš‘ Exciting News from Cameron County Ambulance Service! ๐Ÿš‘

Cameron County Ambulance Service (CCAS) is proud to announce that we are now officially licensed to provide Intermediate Advanced Life Support (IALS) services to the residents and visitors of Cameron County.

So, what does this mean for our community?

Intermediate Advanced Life Support bridges the gap between Basic Life Support (BLS) and Paramedic-level care. With IALS capabilities, specially trained providers can deliver a higher level of prehospital medical treatment right here in Cameron County. This allows patients to receive advanced interventions sooner.
We are also excited to share that several of our current BLS providers are actively pursuing their Advanced EMT certification, expanding our ability to provide this enhanced level of care to our community. In addition, CCAS already has providers who are certified at the IALS level.
While this is an important step forward for CCAS, we want our community to know that we will continue to work closely with our ALS partners whenever full Advanced Life Support services are needed. The strong relationships we have with neighboring agencies remain an essential part of ensuring that patients receive the highest level of care appropriate for their medical needs.
This achievement reflects our ongoing commitment to improving emergency medical services in Cameron County. By expanding our capabilities, we can provide more advanced treatment closer to home while continuing to collaborate with our ALS partners to deliver comprehensive emergency care.

Please join us in congratulating our dedicated EMS professionals who continue to further their education and training to better serve our community. Their commitment and hard work make advancements like this possible.

CCAS remains committed to delivering compassionate, professional, and progressive emergency medical care for Cameron Countyโ€”today and into the future.
