The Atlanta Remodeling Awards aren't handed out for the best-looking photo of a finished room. Judges look at the full project: how well the design solved the homeowner's actual problem, the craftsmanship in the details you don't notice at first glance, and whether the ex*****on matched the original vision.

That distinction matters. A gorgeous photo can hide a project that ran over budget, took twice as long as promised, or left the client frustrated with the process. A true award-worthy project holds up under scrutiny at every stage, not just in the final reveal.

For homeowners researching contractors, this is a useful filter. A firm that has been recognized through a rigorous, peer-reviewed process has demonstrated something beyond good taste, they've shown consistent, professional ex*****on.

When you're evaluating a contractor's past work, do you look past the photos to ask about the process, or does the finished look tend to be the deciding factor?

Projects completed between July 1, 2024 - October 18, 2026 are eligible to be submitted, as long as they haven't been entered in the Atlanta Chapter competition previously. You have between August 1 and October 19, 2026 to create and submit your entry presentation(s).

A first-year member usually joins for one clear reason, a referral lead, a certification path, a specific event. The value that shows up later is different, and it tends to compound the longer a member actually stays engaged instead of letting the membership sit quietly in the background.
Relationships built at chapter events turn into subcontractor referrals and shared vendor tips over time. Committee involvement builds a reputation inside the industry that a directory listing alone can't. None of that shows up in year one, it builds through consistent participation.
