Today is a BIG DAY here at Launch Local as we continue to help START and SUPPORT GOOD WORK in the city of Peachtree Corners and the surrounding area.

We know that most people deeply desire to be a part of a GOOD WORK in their lifetime. But we also know how hard it can be to get started.

So we created the LEARNING LAB because we believe *every* person is destined for a Good Work... and we’re determined to help you to discover it!

Whether you start one, or simply support one, we know first hand how life giving it is when we participate in a work that causes others to flourish.

Our Learning Lab is an in-person environment that offers clarity and a set of next steps that will enable you to start or support a Good Work in the next 30-90 days!

And when you leave the Learning Lab, we believe you'll leave having greater insight into who you are, what matters to you, and how you can begin making a difference in your city.

But most of all, you’ll leave with a better understanding of how to launch into the Good Work of your life!

I'm so excited about this Friday, y'all! It's a major step forward in an adventure that's been in the works for nearly a year now and I'm trilled that my good friend and fellow adventurer, Sandy Johnson, is joining our team at Launch Local to help us run our very first Learning Lab!

Launch Local's deepest desire is to help start and support Good Work that is capable of flourishing in the places where we live work and play.

This is why we started our nonprofit and why we desperately wanted to demonstrate a small version of what this looks like by launching our coffee cart in the Spring of 2023.

With your support of our efforts in running The Cart and The (concession) Stand we've been able to help financially SUPPORT several other organizations in the Good Work they already do.

But now the time has come for us to begin helping other people START the Good Work they've been dreaming of launching in our city and the surrounding area!

So, on Friday night, we'll huddle together with a handful of people and explore this singular question together - Who are you right now?

It's a specific and localized question for a specific and localized idea meant to catalyze the small dreams, simple ideas, and good works capable of transforming our very own neighborhoods and cities!

2023 has been a year of so many firsts for us here at Launch Local!

It’s the year we became a nonprofit and elected an incredible board of directors to help guide our organization through its mission of starting and supporting Good Work in the city of Peachtree Corners and the surrounding area.

It’s the year we started our first funding initiative - a partnership between Launch Local and the Norcross Youth Baseball and Softball Association to run concessions out of Pinckneyvile Park.

These efforts yielded an incredible opportunity for us to share our vision with others, connect with community members, and generate funding for our larger desire to see Good Work started and supported in our area.

It's the year over 30 of you volunteered to work in our concession stand and collectively served hundreds of hours together! We hope you know that each hour of volunteer help means even more of the money spent at the concession stand gets sent right back into the city to start and support more Good Work!

It’s the year we started our very first hyperlocal, small scale, impact initiative!

In April of 2023, we launched a mobile coffee cart to help create another funding mechanism to support and further the Good Work happening through Launch Local.

Our vision for the cart was simple: create a vehicle for generating funding through what we call our "earn and return protocol." It’s been a successful proof of concept for us as we seek to help others in our city start for profit, non profit, and passion projects that are capable of bringing about social impact right where we live!

To date, our coffee cart has:

:: Served over 2500 cups of handcrafted coffee in previously untapped markets.

:: Engaged with hundreds of customers in our city around handcrafted coffee.

:: Trained two additional baristas to work our coffee cart to help scale and support our initiative.

:: Partnered with an established business to provide a coffee experience during previously unused hours during the holiday season.

:: Generated a business plan that can be scaled over the next year!

But one of the greatest joys of being a part of an organization that starts and supports Good Work is the people we meet along the way and the projects we get to see up close.

We’re excited to introduce you to the people and projects you helped support by partnering with us at Launch Local over the course of 2023.

*** This year we gave $15,000 to support… ***

:: Corners Outreach's work to support and improve educational outcomes with at-risk children and youth as well as providing employment opportunities for many of their family members.

:: Robert D. Fowler Family YMCA’s Backpack Food Program for food insecure families on a weekly basis

:: His Way Atlanta's work to specifically help men throughout the journey of addiction recovery

:: Motel to Homes' (St. Vincent de Paul Georgia) work to transition families from extended stay motels into sustainable and permanent housing.

:: Neighborhood Cooperative Ministries' work around assistance to those in need of food, clothing, and shelter.

:: Norcross Youth Baseball and Softball Association's youth sports programs that provide a place for children from all corners of our community to play together in a way that helps them learn the life long lessons of teamwork and resiliency.

As we prepare for 2024 we are hopeful that you will continue to partner with us in starting and supporting Good Work in our city and the surrounding area.

We have plans to introduce our Good Work Accelerator during the first quarter in which we invite others to go through a process to help turn their good ideas into impact making, potentially income earning opportunities for Good Work!

We have plans to gather like-minded Do Gooders together for events that will encourage and equip the work they are already doing and offer on ramps for those who are looking for guidance and support on how to get started.

We have plans to launch another hyper-local, small scale impact oriented initiative in 2024 in addition to the mobile coffee cart launched this past year.

And of course we hope to continue the work we started last year at Pinckneyville Park by running their concession stand for another season and further funding our work in this way.

Thank you again, for all the many ways you supported us this past year! We can’t wait to see all the Good Work 2024 has in store for our city.

One of our goals at Launch Local is to create an eco system in our city where unsuspecting places and even products can turn into catalysts for launching Good Works!

That’s one of the many reasons we’re excited to partner with Break Coffee Roasters to serve (and sell) their locally roasted coffee wherever you find the Launch Local Coffee Cart.

Not only are the people at Break roasting up a good bean, they’re also actively doing good in the world by giving 10% back to charitable works locally and globally.

We're so stoked to be a part of this year's Peachtree Corners Festival taking place at the Peachtree Corners Town Center this weekend!

We'll have the Coffee Cart set up on the Town Green FRIDAY evening beginning at 5PM ahead of that night's events and then again on SATURDAY morning!

Our heart as a nonprofit organization is for the City of Peachtree Corners, Georgia and our strategy is to create the kind of place where we launch (hyper) local enterprises that create an ecosystem for starting and supporting more Good Works in our city and the surrounding area!

We do this in 3 ways:

1. Launch Local starts Good Works like Coffee Carts that help support and sustain our mission.

2. Launch Local helps other people start Good Works in our city whether it's a for-profit, non-profit, or passion project through sharing our two decades worth of experience in starting and sustaining new initiatives.

3. Launch Local offers support to Good Works that already exist in our city and the surrounding area through coaching and material support.

Here's a long but hopefully worthwhile post about what's been happening with us the past few months!

Our Board of Directors met this morning to discuss our nonprofit's work, and let's just say we have some exciting things to share!

We are excited to report that after only being in existence for a little over 6 months, we are already successfully executing on our mission to both START and SUPPORT Good Works in the city of Peachtree Corners and the surrounding area!

To date we have:

:: Started two separate hyperlocal, small scale initiatives to help fund our work as a non-profit:

:: In March, we started running a concessions initiative in partnership with Pinckneyville Park.

:: In April, we started running a coffee cart initiative wherever coffee can be enjoyed.

By starting these two initiatives we've:

:: Paid off all debt so that every $ of profit spent can be sent right back into our city to do *more* Good Work!

:: Hired our first 1099 employee to help manage logistics and oversight of our Concession's initiative.

:: Begun hiring other 1099's to help us run these two initiatives this fall!

Not only have we STARTED Good Works in our city, but we've also been able to SUPPORT other people's Good Work because of the success of those initiatives!

:: During this morning's meeting, we finalized details around our first disbursement! We're setting aside $10,000 to pay out to 6 other organizations who are already on the ground doing the kind of Good Work we hope to see more of in the days to come! More information will come out around this decision later, but for now we want you to know that when you support one of our initiatives, you support Good Work all over this city!
