Sgt. Clyde Thomason, MOH Marine Corps League Detachment #1325

The Sgt. Clyde Thomason, MOH Detachment is based out of Coweta and Fayette counties in Georgia.

Members of the Marine Corps League join together in camaraderie and fellowship for the purpose of preserving the traditions and promoting the interests of the United States Marine Corps, banding together those who are now serving in the United States Marine Corps and those who have been honorably discharged from that service that they may effectively promote the ideals of American freedom and demo

cracy, voluntarily aiding and rendering assistance to all Marines, FMF Corpsmen (Active, Reserve, Retired and Honorably Discharged) and to their widows and orphans; and to perpetuate the history of the United States Marine Corps and by fitting acts to observe the anniversaries of historical occasions of particular interest to Marines.

Today had lunch with Getzie Lamar the director or Northwest GA Young Marines. Sgt Clyde Thomason MOH MCL1325 presented an 1100 dollar check to fund their uniform closet. Getzie also holds a billet at the MCL Department level and Detachment level. Did I mention she a job too? She clearly demonstrates the Marine ethos of service. Semper Fi Getzie!

We had a great meeting this past Tuesday! We celebrated Buddy’s 95th Birthday, had two great speakers and welcomed 5 new members! Peter Merrill from East Coweta HS Marine JROTC brought two of his cadets to speak. Kyle Butcher from Camp Southern Ground also spoke about their support of Veterans. We will be giving both organizations money this month! New members (not pictured) Brent, Cliff, Dawn, Marcus and Patrick (welcome back Patrick) will be great additions to our Detachment. Semper Fi
