Good Morning sewers! I got the CUTEST cotton fabrics in for the cat hammocks!

Who wants to make some? Pick up anytime this week. Super easy to make (it is just a 2-layer rectangle with a ribbon at each corner)

I contacted Fayette County Humane Society today and they said they would be THRILLED if we can make them cat crate hammocks!

I have the fabric...Who wants to make some? You have the choice to make them with loops at the corners or just sew 2 fabric rectangles together and I will add the loops afterward.

This is an EASY beginner level project, and I will give you the fabric and instructions!

Comment below to get started and set up a pick up time for the fabric. They need to be returned by the 1st of June so I can add the carabiners and loops and drop them off.

OK y'all!! I am getting the fabric from storage today to give people to make cat hammocks!

I am just going to have you make 2-layer rectangles- we will add the hammock corner straps afterward to speed things up.

Let me know if you want to make some and I will pull fabric for you and arrange a pickup time. PM below or PM me.

To make them:
1. Pin the 2 rectangles together (with the right sides together), leaving a 4" opening
2, Stitch all the way around
3: Flip to the right side and poke the corners out with a chopstick
4. Top stitch about 1/4" from the edge all the way around
DONE!

Make from home- return to me by the 1st week of JUNE:)

If you want, you can add a 4" loop at each corner from a piece of cotton fabric before you stitch around.

UPDATE: Since it is Mother's Day weekend, I am moving the sew-along to another date TBD.

OK who is ready to help with a charity project? May is a difficult month to get people together because of graduation, long weekend, etc. so I am going to do the cat hammocks and Bloom blankies as remote projects - pick up kits and drop back off when finished. LMK what you want to work on, and I will arrange a pickup date.

Good Morning! Who wants to help with 2 charity sewing projects?

I have sorted through the large fabric donation I recently received, and there is about 1/2 plush and 1/2 fleece fabrics. The plush will be used for kitty hammocks for the rescues and the fleece will be used for blankies for Bloom.

Below is what the cat hammocks will look like. Thinking to use carabiners to attach so they are removable.
