We’re delighted to welcome back JON BOKENKAMP, a Nebraska writer, showrunner, and executive producer who splits his time between LA and Kearney. Our guest has built a career that bridges studio filmmaking and prestige television with confidence and curiosity - creating global film & TV hits in the process.

Jon is from Kearney, Nebraska, and continues to work and create in both Nebraska and California. He created & served as an executive producer on the NBC drama THE BLACKLIST. Most recently he created The LAST FRONTIER for AppleTV. Bokenkamp’s feature film work includes THE CALL for Halle Berry, TAKING LIVES for Angelina Jolie, and PERFECT STRANGER for Halle Berry & Bruce Willis.

Join us for an intimate evening of conversation as we bring Jon back from Nebraska to meet with you in LA. We promised to do so at his last Salon, which took place at The Carson Center in Lincoln, NE. Join us as Jon shares insights from his journey as a writer and showrunner, reflections on sustaining a series over multiple seasons, and thoughts on the evolving landscape of television storytelling.

We invite you to participate in our annual three-minute film festival that celebrates you! Whether your work is polished or playful, personal or unexpected, this is the Salon to share what you’ve been up to.

Show up. Show off. Wow us.

Share your media or perform live. (And if you need a bit more time, you can borrow extra minutes from someone not sharing). It’s a fast paced fun evening where we all get to know each other’s talents.

Join us & let your creativity unfurl, three minutes at a time. The first Salon of 2026 is Monday, January 12th at 8pm. We’ll bring the popcorn.

We celebrated another year of Nebraska creativity with a fabulous holiday party.

We’d like to thank all of our volunteers who helped make the party a reality - Janel Schemper, Da’rrel Stacy, Irene Mazour, Kirk Zeller, Brett Gross, Tim Woodward, Claudia Coloma, Bridget Bhouslavsky, & Matt Drushal. Also huge thanks to Marc Erickson & Roslin Real for bringing the entertainment and leading us in caroling.

Big gratitude to Todd & Marion who open their home to us in spectacular fashion each year, AND picked up the tab for the event—tickets were free!

A MESSAGE FROM OUR FOUNDER TODD NELSON:

2025 started off with the fires. Now A.I. is coming for your job, if the layoffs and mergers don’t get to it first. It’s been a tough year to be making it in Hollywood.

But since 1992, your Nebraska Coast has had your back. Every month, for over 30 years without fail, we meet in person at the Hollywood Salon. Real connections that keep you plugged in and turned on to a community that sticks together. In all kinds of weather. Squarest & fairest.

Our biggest Salon of the year is our Holiday Party. At my home in Pasadena. And normally we sell tickets to help with the costs. But this year, I’m inviting you and your friends for absolutely FREE. We want you there! No excuses.

(Now if you weren’t burned out or laid off and you want to express your gratitude with a donation, we’ll be happy to help you contribute a few bucks or a couple hours to the cause).

This is the time to gather together. Circle the wagons. We all need this party more than ever. The NCC has been here for you for three decades. Now we just need you to get yourself up to my place on the mountain.

Spread the word to all the folks you’d like to mingle and jingle with. Dress to impress and come ready to laugh and dance and party us all into a fresh new year.

Live music. Mouth-watering delicacies flown in from back home. Celebrities and special guests. A visit from Santa and great raffle prizes.

We got you. Come play with your Hollywood Nebraska family. See you at the party!
