The Armory is neither squarely an art museum nor an art school. Each part informs and

compliments the other. Our exhibitions are a focal point for our education programs, inspiring young people to make art in our studio. Likewise, our nationally recognized teaching methods inform how young people and adults learn about the themes and ideas found in our exhibitions, which are always open at no cost to the public.

Saturdays are for music, art, and community! 🎶 Join us this Saturday, August 22, at the Levitt VIBE Pasadena Music Series at Memorial Park, right across the street from the Armory.
We’ll be there with an artmaking table alongside an evening of FREE live music, featuring Chris Pierce. Stop by, make some art, and stay for the music! ✨
The series continues every Saturday through September 12, so there are plenty more chances to join us. Bring a blanket, bring your friends, and come enjoy summer in the park!

We're pleased to present 'Nurtured Flames: The Medicine of Fire,' an exhibition by Meztli Projects, opening in the Armory's Caldwell Gallery on Friday, September 4th.
Featuring new works created in 2026 by an intergenerational cohort of eleven Indigenous artists, this exhibition explores the relationship between Indigenous Peoples and fire. Moving beyond the binary of "good fire" and "bad fire," the artists draw on Indigenous knowledge systems that understand fire as a force of stewardship, care, renewal, repair, and regeneration.
The exhibition features works by joel garcia, River Garza, Ishi Glinsky, Artemiza (Ciara Green), Adrienne Kinsella, Kenneth Lopez, Emma Robbins, Kimberly Robertson, Aanii Tate, Isaac Michael Ybarra, and Alexandria Ybarra.

Get hands-on with the art of tilemaking! 🏺 Join 'all the ways to hold tender this land,' exhibiting artist Anais Franco for a workshop exploring the process of designing, carving, and glazing Batchelder-inspired tiles. Drawing from the work of Pasadena-based Arts & Crafts designer and educator Ernest Batchelder, participants will create their own tiles while exploring the possibilities of clay, pattern, and place.
Developed in collaboration with the Armory’s Studio Department, this workshop invites collective making as a space for reflection and post-Eaton Fire healing.

🎨 $15 tuition | All materials included
👥 Open to all ages

🎨 Explore storytelling in Painting, Printmaking & Collage with Armory Teaching Artist, Rachel Colón!

In this hands-on class, young artists will experiment with color, composition, texture, patterns, and mixed media to create artwork inspired by their ideas, experiences, and imaginations. Students will also spend time in our Caldwell Gallery exploring Nurtured Flames: The Medicine of Fire, discovering how artists use art to tell stories about belonging, community, and our relationships to the places we call home.

Discover 'all the ways to hold tender this land' this weekend. ⛰️✨
Witness in person the exhibition that brings together four artists who explore nature, ancestral histories, memory, and healing. Featuring work by Anais Franco, Francesca Lalanne, Maddy Inez, and Brie Ruais, 'all the ways' calls for collective listening as a way of understanding how to care for it in the wake of worsening climate catastrophes, such as the Eaton Fire.
