MERCY MATTERS: A PLACE TO FIND LANGUAGE. 💙💚

A new world of possibilities is opening up for Mercy!

Today, Mercy attends a Deaf school in Uganda where she has the opportunity to learn, develop language, and communicate in new ways.

Here, she can build relationships, make friends, gain an education, and discover her gifts and abilities. As she develops language through sign language, new doors will open for her to express herself, learn, and grow.

For Mercy, this is more than a place to receive an education. It is a place to build a foundation for her future and discover what is possible.

Because 1 Deaf child matters. 💙💚

MERCY MATTERS: MERCY FOUND A WAY — ONE SIGN AT A TIME. 💙💚

This week, we saw how Mercy’s determination helped her find ways to communicate. When she needed something, she used gestures and illustrated what she wanted until someone understood her.

Even without a shared language, Mercy kept trying to make herself understood. She was finding her own way to communicate, one sign at a time.

Her education would eventually open the door to a new language and help Mercy communicate more easily.

We’ll continue Mercy’s journey next week.

Mercy was determined to communicate. When she needed something, she would use gestures and illustrate what she wanted until someone understood her.

Even without a shared language, Mercy kept trying. She found her own ways to express herself and make her needs known.

Her determination was paving the way toward a new chapter, when education would help Mercy and Sarah communicate more easily.

🇲🇽Look at these cute photos of Deaf children in Mexico!

Building relationships takes time, and language learning often happens through play, connection, and fellowship.

Please pray that more Deaf children all over the world will have the opportunity to attend school, where they can find a safe and welcoming place to learn sign language, build friendships, and grow in their ability to communicate with others.

Most importantly, pray that through these relationships and opportunities, Deaf children around the world will experience God's love and discover the hope He has for their lives. 💙

Mercy is a smart and determined little girl. Even without a shared language, she found ways to communicate her needs to Sarah through signs and gestures of her own. She persisted until she was understood.

Mercy was finding ways to communicate, but there was still so much she wanted to express. Her education would eventually open the door to a new language for Mercy to communicate more easily.

Kenya 🇰🇪 Team 2026 Update

Let's update you on their progress.

The team traveled to another partner for a day trip and returned to LDO for the remainder of their time with the Deaf children. They said their goodbyes to head back to Nairobi for a safari and to return to the US.

✈️ The team has arrived safely in the US and flying to each of their home destinations.

Continue to pray for our field partners and for the team to process all that they were able to see God doing in Kenya.

MERCY MATTERS: LOVE WAS THE BEGINNING. 💙💚

This week, we saw the love Sarah gave Mercy as she cared for her and watched her begin to thrive.

Mercy’s first language was love. She had Sarah’s love and experienced God’s love through her care. They communicated through basic gestures, but Sarah eventually realized that no matter how hard she tried, Mercy would not hear the words she wanted to share with her.

Love was there, but Mercy still needed a way to communicate with the world around her.

Her story reminds us that every Deaf child needs more than care. Every Deaf child needs language.

We’ll continue Mercy’s journey next week.
