The 2026 Kids Fishing Derby is happening today from 12–2 PM at Woolley Park in Panacea!

Kids ages 3–15 can fish anywhere in Wakulla or Franklin County—just be in line with your fish by 2 PM. Don’t catch a fish? You can still participate by checking in and completing all the educational booths!

🎣 The first 150 kids to meet eligibility will receive a FREE rod and reel and T-shirt
🏆 Trophies and prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each fish category
🌭 Free hot dogs, drinks and snacks

Grab the kids, head outdoors and join us for an afternoon of fishing, learning and fun. Good luck to all our young anglers! 🐟

🎣 2026 KIDS FISHING DERBY TARGET FISH 🎣

Young anglers can fish freshwater or saltwater and bring an eligible fish to the weigh-in—or participate by completing all the educational booths!

📅 Saturday, August 29, 2026
⏰ Weigh-In: 12:00–2:00 PM
📍 Woolley Park, Panacea
👦👧 Open to children ages 3–15

🐟 TARGET FISH

Saltwater: Pinfish, Croaker, Redfish, Speckled Trout, Flounder, Spanish Mackerel and Saltwater Catfish

Freshwater: Bass, Bream and Catfish

📋 RULES & ELIGIBILITY

• Fishing begins at daylight Saturday morning.
• Fish anywhere in Wakulla or Franklin County.
• Check-in and weigh-in will be held at Woolley Park from noon until 2:00 PM.
• Anglers must be in line with their fish by 2:00 PM.
• Proof of age may be required.
• To qualify for a rod, reel and shirt, participants must either weigh in a fish OR check in and complete all educational booths.
• Even if you don’t catch a fish, you can still participate by completing the educational booths and having your card stamped.
• The first 150 eligible participants will receive a rod, reel and event shirt.
• Trophies and prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place in each fish category immediately after weigh-in ends.
• Hot dogs, drinks and snacks will be provided at no charge.
