United Way of the Desert's mission is to break the cycle of poverty in the Coachella Valley. Our focus is on education, income stability and health – the building blocks for a good quality of life. United Way recruits the people and organizations who bring the passion, expertise and resources needed to get things done. Thousands of local families and individuals receive vital services from United

Way supported partner programs throughout the year. Some of the programs provided by United Way partner agencies are emergency rental and utility assistance; hot meals for the hungry; cancer treatment payment assistance; comprehensive youth development; programs to assist frail and homebound seniors; all-day child care; cancer out-patient services; emergency energy assistance; mental health counseling; and many more.
