The Well in the Desert nonprofit will temporarily suspend its Saturday food bank operations starting this weekend after being forced to vacate its longtime Palm Springs facility for a new city fire station project.

Recovery Month celebrates the gains made by those in recovery, just as we celebrate health improvements made by those who are managing other health conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, asthma, and heart disease. This observance reinforces the positive message that behavioral health is essential to overall health, prevention works, treatment is effective, and people can and do recover.

A huge THANK YOU to all of our incredible volunteers and collaborators who showed up with open hearts and helping hands to serve our unhoused community. Together, we’re providing more than basic needs—we’re building connection, dignity, trust and hope. 🙏
Tonight’s impact:
🍽️ 98 meals provided by JFK/Morrison
🥪 75 sack lunches provided by the Higgs, Verdugo & Schroeder families
🚿 19 showers provided by Overflow 9:12
🩺 6 people seen by Eisenhower Mobile Unit & CVVIM
🩺7 seen by San Bernardino Nursing Students
Every meal, shower, conversation and act of kindness matters. Thank you for continuing to walk alongside our community and reminding people that they are seen, valued and not forgotten. ❤️

Today is a very special day as we celebrate Tyler & Cassie and 3 years of sobriety! 🎉
We have had the privilege of watching you both grow, change, overcome challenges, and build a life rooted in hope and recovery. Your journey hasn’t always been easy, but you kept choosing to move forward — one day at a time.
What makes this milestone so special is knowing that 3 years ago, your lives looked very different. Today, you are living proof that recovery can open the door to a future you may once have thought was impossible.
We are so incredibly proud of you both. Thank you for allowing us to be part of your journey and for showing others that there is hope, there is a way forward, and recovery is possible.
