💭 FUN FACT FRIDAY🔥 5 FUN FACTS ABOUT THE TROMBONE! 🔥
Today’s featured trombone is extra special—it belongs to none other than our very own Director Mr. Mozina! 👏

1️⃣ It’s been around for centuries! The trombone dates back to the 15th century, with the first documented use at the Duke of Burgundy’s wedding around 1450s

2️⃣ Its original name evolved from drawing SWORDS! ⚔️ Before “trombone,” it was called saqueboute, from a French term meaning “to draw out”—like drawing a sword!

3️⃣ Trombone literally means “large trumpet”! 🎺 In German, it’s called posaune, originally meaning “trumpet.”

4️⃣ It was once considered a SACRED instrument! ⛪ Beginning in the 18th century, the trombone was used heavily in religious music and church services rather than secular music.

5️⃣ Lefties have a challenge! 😜 While left-handed players can play trombone, the instrument is traditionally designed with the right hand controlling the slide while the left hand supports the instrument.

🎶 Big sound. Big history. BIG personality. That’s the trombone!
