🌈 United and it feels so good! 🌈

It is with much joy that we announce that the Prism Arts Alliance has officially merged into Owensboro Blue Bridge Pride! We know that on this united front, we will be stronger, more creative, and better able to spread our message of love!

The Rainbow List, Craft Nights, and other Prism events will continue under Owensboro Blue Bridge Pride (Conversations Around the Table, Pride Panels), and we cannot wait to see how our community will continue to grow, create, and educate together!

If you’re looking to get involved in making Owensboro a safer and more welcoming place for all LGBTQIA+ people, head over to Owensboro Blue Bridge Pride and give us a like! Even message us and say, “Hey! I want to be involved!”

It has been the gift of a lifetime to serve this community as the Prism Arts Alliance, and while it’s time to say goodbye, we are really saying a big HELLO to a joined force of passionate q***r people and their allies who are seeking to make lasting change in our community. We hope you’ll join us there. ✨

We’re heartbroken to hear about the passing of Lia Smith, a bright student, talented athlete, and overall courageous woman.

We stand with Lia’s family, friends, and the entire trans community mourning her loss.

If you or someone you love is struggling, please remember that help is available.

Proud to be apart of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Owensboro’s Coming Out Day celebrations. 🥰🏳️‍🌈

Here’s all the details from Rev. Dr. Claudia A. Ramisch:

Friends,
There are two events for National Coming Out Day! I think that’s good because these are discouraging times on so many fronts. It’s important to be together. So please come, bring friends, publicize to your constituencies. And this isn’t just for q***r folks, the Human Rights Campaign asks those of us in the straight community who have been shy to come out as allies on this day—show up and be openly supportive!
Both events are free and at 1UU at the corner of Cedar & Parrish, Owensboro.

Saturday night, 11 Oct @ 6:30 pm—Conversations Around the Table will be presented through Prism Arts Alliance. This is an original piece of femme-q***r art from right here in Owensboro directed by Randi Howard. It is a powerful production of Reader’s Theater in the style of the Va**na Monologues. It is free for Coming Out Day! I’ve seen it; you don’t want to miss out (but be aware that the language is not appropriate for young children.)

Sunday afternoon, 12 Oct @ 12 n—we will have our annual picnic. We’ll provide hot dogs, snacks, and drinks. We have corn hole boards and badminton. Just come— and bring a dessert, if you want! The Prayer service @ 1:30 includes the Rainbow Chain of Solidarity. It’s always a fun day!
