Beverly’s Hearty Slice was created by Travis Owsley to honor his mother, Beverly Slaughter. Beverly loved to provide free food in her community when she had the opportunity to make big meals. After Beverly's passing in 2018, Travis wanted to continue his mother's tradition and from that Beverly's Hearty Slice was born. EMOTIONAL post! 🥲 An ANONYMOUS donor has officially gifted Beverly's Hearty Slice a whole barn to utilize for our operations! This amazing new space is a total game-changer for our mission. Here is how this GIFT will help us grow: (Expanded Storage) Plenty of room to sort and organize all your wonderful donations. A HUGE thank you to everyone who made our 2026 neighborhood “Block Party” a success! 👏 We had over 150 in attendance today that we had the opportunity to bless. Thank you to our sponsors, volunteers and everyone who shared our post to help reach more families it takes a village. We’re grateful to the families we serve and our supportive community. GREAT NEWS🎉🙌🏽 and updates on the “Block Party” this Saturday at The Lot Food Truck Park & Events. We are now helping the first (50) families with utilities vouchers! We will have 25 Kenergy and 25 Owensboro Municipal Utilities must bring bill & I.D. Thank you to Real Hacienda on our 1st partnership they are giving (50) FREE kids meals certificates for the first 50 kids. Thank you to Shilohs Lounge & Grill for stepping up and offering to grill our cheeseburgers and hotdogs for the BBQ we plan to have enough to feed (250) people. Thank you to Nothing Bundt Cakes for donating 4 boxes of Bundt cakes 🎂 for dessert for our families. Thank you to Pepsi for sponsoring our drinks. Thank you to club for donating (2) five week memberships! Thank you to for providing the inflatable for the kids to enjoy!

We’re EXCITED 🎉📣 to announce our 2nd Annual community “Block Party”
taken place on August 22nd at The Lot from 1:00 to 3:30pm! For this year’s event we’re collaborating with German American Bank, Five Below, The Lot Food Truck Park & Events and Pepsi. We will have drawings for (12) bikes thanks to . (25) Authentic Squishy dumplings thanks to , (9) pair of shoes thanks to and (8) donated gift cards for food! Here is what we have planned:
🍔 🌭 FREE BBQ, Pepsi drinks, desserts & Beverages.
🎶 Live music Up Vibe Entertainment, LLC

Beverly's Hearty Slice 1st annual 2026 Golf Scramble is officially in the books, and we could not be more grateful for the incredible community support!
Thank you to the golfers, volunteers, and our generous sponsors, we enjoyed a fantastic day on the greens while making a real difference. The funds and awareness raised will directly support our ongoing mission and holiday events.

Beverly's Hearty Slice Golf Scramble ⛳️ this Friday. Registration will start at 7:45am tee time 8:30am. Thank you to all the teams, sponsors, volunteers and most importantly our board members! We’re grateful for your support the funds raised will go toward our bi weekly meals at (5) locations and holiday events.❤️

What a BLESSED day🎉❤️ Beverly's Hearty Slice is now partnering with at their Owensboro location. What this organization does is inspire kids to give to others. How this works is the parent will click on the link below and find Owensboro fill out the application and after the quick appointment the parents will stay up front while the kids gets to pick out (2) gifts to give to another kid and they get the opportunity to have a gift and able to apply in the future for what I was told up to a $50,000 dollar scholarship for school! They plan to help and be a distributor for our holiday events. What a great mission and group of people and we’re grateful that they chose our MISSION to partner with! ://kids4good.as.me/
