Thank you to everyone who stopped by yesterday to support the Oshkosh Southwest Rotary Brat Barn fundraiser! 🌭🍔

Whether you purchased a brat, burger, or hot dog, you helped make the day a success. A huge thank you also goes out to all of our amazing volunteers who gave their time to shop, set up, grill, serve, and clean up.

Every dollar raised will be reinvested right back into our community through Oshkosh Southwest Rotary service projects. Your support helps us continue making a difference for local organizations and the people we serve.

Thank you for helping us turn lunch into community impact! ❤️💛

What's better on a summer day than a brat, hot dog, or juicy hamburger?
How about enjoying one while knowing your purchase is helping fund scholarships and projects right here in our community through the Oshkosh Southwest Rotary Club!
Stop by, grab lunch, and make a difference—one delicious bite at a time. 🌭🍔☀️

Oshkosh Southwest Rotarians recently served dinner at the Day By Day Shelter, providing a meal for approximately 50 guests. Our volunteers fired up the grill and served burgers along with a variety of delicious side dishes.

The best part? Every single bit of food was enjoyed — not a crumb was left behind!

Serving a meal at the shelter is a simple but meaningful way to make a difference in our community. Sharing food, conversation, and kindness with our neighbors is truly rewarding and reminds us of the impact we can have when we come together in service.

If you're looking for a feel-good way to give back, volunteering to serve a meal at the shelter is an experience we highly recommend. It was an evening filled with gratitude, fellowship, and the joy of helping others.

Service Above Self in action! ❤️🍔🏠

Today, Rotarian Bill Thimke, owner of Black Pearl Coffee Company (est. 2005), shared some fascinating coffee facts with us!

☕ Coffee does not age well.
☕ About two weeks after roasting, coffee can lose up to half of its original flavor.
☕ Buying only as much coffee as you’ll drink in about a week helps ensure freshness.
☕ Whole bean coffee stays fresh longer than pre-ground coffee.

Thank you, Bill, for sharing your knowledge and passion for great coffee with us!

Thank you to all of the Southwest Rotarians who came out this past Saturday to support the Sleep in Heavenly Peace bed build! 🛠️🛏️

Because of your hard work, teamwork, and dedication to serving others, more children in our community will have a safe, comfortable bed to call their own. From sanding and assembling to lending a helping hand wherever needed, your efforts made a real difference.

Thank you for living out Rotary’s motto of Service Above Self and helping ensure that no child sleeps on the floor in our town!!!! 💙💛

This week, we were pleased to welcome Molly Butz, Executive Director of Day By Day Shelter, as our guest speaker.

Day By Day Shelter was founded by a coalition of community members who recognized the need for safe, temporary shelter for individuals experiencing homelessness in the Oshkosh area. Since opening its doors on October 15, 2011, the organization has worked to provide temporary shelter, individualized services, and opportunities for self-sufficiency that empower some of our community's most vulnerable adults.

Molly has served as Executive Director since 2020 and shared valuable insights into the shelter’s mission, the challenges facing those experiencing homelessness, and the impact Day By Day Shelter continues to make throughout our community.

Thank you, Molly, for your leadership and for the important work your team does each day to provide hope, support, and a path forward for those in need. 💚✨

This week, we were excited to welcome board members from Oshkosh Kids Museum to Oshkosh Southwest Rotary!

The Oshkosh Kids Museum is a nonprofit children’s museum opening in 2027. Lisa Heller and Tina Fillmore launched the 501(c)(3) organization in 2024 with a goal of raising $500,000 to help create a children’s museum that Oshkosh can call its own.

We appreciated learning more about their vision for inspiring creativity, learning, and play for children and families throughout our community! 🎨📚🛝🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒

This Saturday, May 30, Oshkosh Kids Museum will be taking part in Father Carr's Carnival for Kids from 10am- 4pm at Father Carr’s Place 2B! ✨
