The Orange 4-H Poinsettia Fundraiser is back!

Our 4-H members are selling poinsettias again this year to raise funds for their clubs and/or to help pay their camp fees.

All poinsettias will be red and are a beautiful addition to any home, office, or church this holiday season. Orders are due by Tuesday, November 17th, 2026. Pick-up will be Wednesday, December 2nd, 2026 in the Orange Extension Office meeting room from 2pm to 6pm.

Plants have been produced by American Color.

This year, we are offering a third option, bringing options to:

Regular sized, 6-inch pots, $8
Jumbo sized, 8-inch pots, $16
XL Jumbo sized, 10-inch pots, $24

As we wrap up National 4-H Week today, we're shining a spotlight on one of the most important parts of 4-H: Community Service.

Service is at the heart of the 4-H Pledge, and our clubs work throughout the year to give back to the communities that support them. Whether it's volunteering at local outreach events, shopping at Children's Toy Box and for Seniors, assisting with cleanup at local facilities, or lending a helping hand where it's needed most, our 4-H members are learning the value of citizenship, leadership, and service.

By giving back, our youth are making a positive impact today while developing the skills and compassion needed to become the leaders of tomorrow. We are proud of the many ways Orange County 4-H members are helping strengthen our community, one act of service at a time. 🍀

Meet our newest club, the Market Poultry Club!

This project club surrounds the raising, processing, and sale of Market Poultry. In the past few years, the club members have raised meat chickens breeds starting in March and processing them in May. There has been recent interest in raising turkeys, too! The project focuses on the quality care of meat birds as well as the humane processing of them to become meat. Each youth sells five frozen chickens at our auction in June after giving a presentation as well as being judged on showmanship and workmanship of their processed birds.

The club will begin meetings in the next couple of months, so be on the lookout for the announcement!

Continuing with Cloverbuds, meet the Livestock Cloverbuds Club!

Also open to youth ages 5 to 8, the Livestock Cloverbuds have made apple butter, visited Sarah's Pumpkin Patch, made their own pizza, visit Hale Family Dentistry, and participate in our County Fair with the Cloverbud Parades and Bottle Babies Show!

Livestock Cloverbuds meet on the third Tuesday of each month at 6:30 in the Orange Extension Office downstairs meeting room.

Meet the True Blue Cloverbuds!

Cloverbud Clubs are open to youth ages 5 to 8 and cover all sorts of cool topics. The True Blue Cloverbuds have visited Deep Roots to learn all about operating a nursery, got to help at J-TEAM Dairy with Miss Molly, gone into a soil pit to learn about the different layers of soil, visited local horse farms, attended Sarah's Pumpkin Patch and of course participate in our County Fair each summer through the Cloverbud Parades and Bottle Babies show!

True Blue Cloverbuds meet every third Monday of the month at 6:30 in the Bethlehem United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall.

Join us on October 23rd from 6pm to 8pm for a meet and greet with our Bit & Bridle Club! We will be meeting at Marquis Station, 23191 Constitution Highway, Unionville, VA 22567.

We will have guests talking about different aspects of the horse industry like Horse & Soul Counseling, Adrianna Cowan discussing Fox Hunting, Anthony Terry discussing roping, Ranch Riding, hippology, horse judging, horseback mounted archery, and more!
