====================
How long have you been in band?
6 years
What are some of your band accomplishments?
I've done Junior Clinic for 2 years, All-East Senior clinic for 3 years, UTC honor band for 2 years, and All County for 5 years including 1st Chair Wind Ensemble on Euphonium and Tuba my sophomore and junior year. I'm also low brass Section Leader and Equipment Manager.
What are some of your high school academic accomplishments?
I've taken multiple AP and dual enrollment classes and passed the majority of my AP exams. I was also ranked #1 in my class freshman year.
What advice do you have for incoming freshmen?
Everything is temporary. All of the hardships and struggles that you, or anyone will face is not meant to last forever. Even though doing basics block for the first time, or practicing difficult audition music can make you feel weak, it's actually making you stronger. Don't be discouraged by any difficult bumps in the road and enjoy the time you have, because it is all temporary in the end.
What is one (or some) of your favorite band memories?
One of my favorite band memories was during the Alcoa marching competition my freshman year when I got lost at the mall 😓. I also loved every year at all-east when about 40 people would go on the waterslide at a time, that was very chaotic in a good way. Having Tracy Wright as my conductor for All-county was also a great experience, and I love the energy he brings which makes performing with him very fun.
What are your plans post-graduation?
I plan to go to college to study nursing and continue to do band. I'd love to one day, be a nurse and live in Korea.
