Some children live so far from the world's attention that simply reaching them takes an entire day. To meet the children on the islands of the Kafue River, our team first drives for hours over rough and difficult roads. When the road finally runs out, they trade it for a motorized canoe and continue on across the water, past a river where crocodiles are never far from view.

The islands at the end of that journey have no electricity, no clinic, and no school. The children here grow up cut off from the things so many of us take for granted, and that isolation is exactly what leaves them vulnerable, to poverty, to exploitation, and to a future with very few open doors.

So we go the distance. Not because it is easy, but because every child is worth the journey.

A man faces several s*x crime charges after an undercover human trafficking operation by CPD's Narcotics/Vice and Special Victims Units. Christopher Taylor (DOB: 05/16/1970) contacted one of our undercover officers posing as a minor and solicited them for s*xual activity. Investigators tracked Taylor to Kansas, where he was arrested. Taylor is currently being held in Franklin County, Kansas awaiting extradition on the following charges:
- R**e of a child for soliticing a 12-year-old
- Aggravated Statutory R**e for soliciting a 16-year-old
- Especially Aggravated S*xual Exploitation of a Minor x2
- Offense of Soliciting S*xual Exploition of a Minor by Electronic Means

The charges and allegations referenced in this post are merely accusations of criminal conduct and not evidence. A defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt and convicted through due process of law..
