🎤🌟 Another sold-out crowd at The Franklin Theatre came out to celebrate the incredible talent of seniors!

The 8th Annual Morning Pointe Foundation Seniors Got Talent Franklin brought 13 acts featuring performers age 60+ to the stage, each with an opportunity to share their talents with an enthusiastic Middle Tennessee audience.

Congratulations to this year's winners!
🥇 1st Place: Janie Mason, 79, ventriloquist
🥈 2nd Place: Sandy Elliott, 63, opera singer
🥉 3rd Place & People's Choice: Terry Coulter, 66, singer and fitness performer

The evening also featured the first-ever Morning Pointe Resident Art Show, recognizing the creative talents of residents across our communities.

🎨 Overall Winner: Carolyn Carter, 86, of Morning Pointe of Franklin, TN - Assisted Living, for her oil painting.
🎨 People's Choice Winner: Jean Rosenbaum, 96, of Morning Pointe of Brentwood - Assisted Living & Memory Care, for her acrylic painting.

And the impact extends well beyond the stage. More than $40,000 was raised to support the Morning Pointe Foundation's scholarships for students pursuing careers in nursing, culinary arts, social work and therapy, as well as free caregiver education for families.

For the performers, it was an opportunity to share something they love with an audience cheering them on. For future caregivers, the funds raised will help support their education and career goals.

🎤⭐ Franklin, what a night for senior talent!

The 8th Annual Morning Pointe Foundation Seniors Got Talent Franklin brought 13 talented senior acts to The Franklin Theatre, giving each of them the chance to step onto a historic stage and share something they truly love with the Middle Tennessee community.

And Franklin showed up for them! A sold-out crowd filled the theatre, cheering on the talented performers and coming together to support the Morning Pointe Foundation.
Together with our sponsors and supporters, the evening raised almost $40,000, including more than $2,000 through People’s Choice voting.

Those dollars will help the Morning Pointe Foundation provide local scholarships for students pursuing nursing, therapy, social work, and culinary arts, while also supporting free caregiver education programs.

🍊 Good things can start with simply getting the right people around the same table.

The Morning Pointe Foundation joined leaders from the University of Tennessee College of Social Work for lunch and a conversation about ways the two organizations can work together to support older adults and caregivers while creating opportunities for future professionals.

Thank you to Dean Dr. Lori Messinger, Amber Edrington, Senior Director of Advancement, and Dr. Doug Coatsworth, Professor and Associate Dean of Research, for the warm welcome. We’re looking forward to where these conversations may lead. 🧡
