Thrift Store: Mon–Thu: 9 am–6 pm, Sun: 1 pm–5 pm, Fri & Sat: CLOSED

Donation Dock: Mon, Tue, Thu: 8 am–9 pm, Wed: 8 am–5 pm, Fri: 9 am–3 pm, Sat: CLOSED, Sun: 12 pm – 9 pm Provided programs and services include:

Direct Assistance/Case Management—We offer food, clothing, furniture, and household items based on need

as supplies are available; financial assistance with utilities, rent and prescriptions; referrals to other area agencies that serve specialized needs; and advocation for client needs with other agencies and organizations. Gifts for Jesus—New toys, household items, clothing, and personal care products donated by area individuals, groups, and churches throughout the year are kept ready to assist clients. Stock Their Lockers—New backpacks, pencils, paper, crayons, glue sticks, and other school supplies necessities are donated to the Center. We then distribute them to families who request help or who are referred by area teachers so that those kids don't have to start the school year with a disadvantage. Community Involvement—A network of partnerships with area charities, churches, and individuals helps the Center function as a safety net for people in crisis in this area. Disaster Response—During times of national disasters, the Samaritan Center serves as a collection point for funds and donated goods when requested by Adventist Community Services. The Center works closely with the disaster response coordinator of the Georgia-Cumberland Conference in responding to disasters both in our local area and nationally as needed. Thrift Shops—Clothing, furniture and household items are made available at low prices to those on tight budgets. Clients who need assistance with these items "shop" with gift certificates given to them by case workers after an evaluation process. In this way, their dignity is preserved, and they retain the ability to make choices about their situation. Volunteer Opportunities—Opportunities exist for volunteers to work in all aspects of the Center's mission.

Four generations. One incredible legacy of giving back 💙

Meet Eunice, Sandra, Melissa, and Jonathan, four generations of the same amazing family who have dedicated their time and hearts to the Samaritan Center!

Eunice Stovall (103) started the tradition in our linens department back at our original location. Now, her daughter Sandra Poston handles data entry every Wednesday, granddaughter Melissa supports our communications department, and great-grandson Jonathan volunteered with community outreach.

From linens to data, and communications to outreach, this family has touched almost every corner of the Samaritan Center. Thank you for making service a family tradition!

What exactly is a "Service Area"? 🗺️🔍

Simply put: It’s the specific geographic footprint (ZIP codes and counties) where we provide direct financial and material aid.

Here is the quick breakdown of why we use one:

💡 To maximize impact. Resources are finite. Funding from our thrift store helps to buy school supplies, hygiene items, and funds rent/utility assistance. Focusing on a specific area ensures we can truly move the needle for families in crisis instead of stretching aid too thin.

🔄 We’re always evaluating ways to help neighbors in our community more effectively.

🤝 No neighbor is left behind. If someone outside our service area needs help, we work closely with local partner organizations to get them connected to the right resources.

Every time you shop or donate, you’re fueling this system of local care. Thank you for helping us support our community! 100% of your financial donation goes towards helping our community. 💙
