Today, we celebrate Juneteenth as a powerful reminder of freedom and the enduring pursuit of justice.

As we honor June 19, 1865, the day enslaved African Americans in Texas finally learned of their freedom, we also reflect on the responsibility we share to continue building a brighter future for the next generation.

At 100 Black Men of Omaha, Inc., our work is rooted in the belief that every young person deserves access to opportunity, guidance, and positive role models. Through mentorship, we strive to empower youth to reach their fullest potential and become the leaders our community needs.

Today, we honor the sacrifices of those who came before us, celebrate the progress that has been made, and recommit ourselves to creating pathways of success for generations to come.

We proudly extend our heartfelt congratulations to one of our very own, Dr. H. Dele Davies, on his appointment as the new University of Nebraska Medical Center Chancellor.

Throughout his distinguished career, Dr. Davies has exemplified excellence, servant leadership, and an unwavering commitment to uplifting others. His impact reaches far beyond medicine and higher education; he has been a steadfast mentor and a shining example to the youth and children we serve. Dr. Davies serves as a beacon of leadership and light for the mentees connected to our organization.

As he assumes this new role, we celebrate not only this historic achievement, but also the countless lives he has influenced through his service and example.

Throughout June, we have been recognizing Men's Health Month. This time of year presents the perfect opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of physical, mental, and emotional well-being for men and boys in our community.

As a chapter, we are honored to be part of a network that has spent four decades transforming lives through mentorship, education, health and wellness, economic empowerment, and leadership development.
