Where are you living?

Ezekiel sat on the banks of the Kebar River—a place marked by captivity, loss, and uncertainty. But God gave him a vision of another river: a river flowing from His presence, bringing life, healing, and hope.

Ezekiel became a “two-banked” person. He lived physically on one bank, but spiritually, he chose to live on another.

We may find ourselves standing in difficult circumstances, but God’s Word gives us a view beyond what we can see. As the old hymn On Jordan’s Stormy Banks reminds us, we can stand in the middle of life’s storms while keeping our eyes fixed on the promised land.

What does it look like to become a two-banked person—to live in the reality of our circumstances while keeping our eyes fixed on what God sees?

What happens when we step back and see the Bible as one big, connected story?

In this episode of The Way is Wild, Blake and Joy Ligon sit down with legendary Bible teacher and CBT founder Iva May to talk about the power of teaching Scripture chronologically—and how seeing the big picture of God’s Word can shape us into more fully formed disciples of Jesus with a solid biblical worldview.

Whether you’re a longtime Bible student or simply want to better understand the story of Scripture, this conversation will challenge and encourage you to see the Bible in a fresh way.

Listen to The Way is Wild and share this episode with someone who wants to grow deeper in God’s Word.

➡ Daniel
➡ Psalm 137

3 waves of captives from Judah
➡ 605 BC

➡ A time of judgment, exile, lament, faithfulness, and hope

Even in captivity, God had not abandoned His people. Through the prophets, He continued to speak and remind them that His purposes would endure.

God is at work through Chronological Bible Teaching Ministries! 🙌

We’re excited to share that CBT is partnering with Training Pastors Schools to develop Old and New Testament Survey curriculum built around the 14 Era story arc of Scripture. Even more encouraging, nearly 300 pastors from across the mid-South have enrolled in the upcoming course!

Join us in celebrating how God is using these resources to strengthen pastors, equip churches, and deepen biblical understanding around the world. Please be praying for Stan May and Jonathan Dulin as they complete the Old Testament curriculum and begin work on the New Testament courses.

We can’t wait to see how God uses this training to impact pastors, churches, and communities for years to come! If you’d like to follow along with stories like this and receive future ministry updates and prayer requests, email Donna at [email protected] to be added to the mailing list.

The Bible isn’t a collection of disconnected stories—it’s one story.

One of our readers recently had One Year Chronological Study Bible rebound in leather so she can keep tracing that story for years to come. We love the picture it paints: returning to God's Word again and again, adding notes in the margins, and remembering His faithfulness through every season.

That’s the beauty of reading the Bible chronologically. Each year, the story feels more connected, the gospel shines more clearly, and God’s faithfulness becomes even more evident.

Mt. Moriah shows up again and again throughout Scripture.

It’s where Abraham experienced God’s provision.
Where David encountered God’s mercy.
And where Solomon built the Temple — a place that pointed people toward God’s holiness, the seriousness of sin, and the need for a substitute.

But ultimately, Mt. Moriah was pointing to Jesus.

The Bible is one connected story of redemption, and every passage helps us see more clearly who He is and what He came to do.

Follow along with our free daily devotional as we walk chronologically through Scripture together.
