The YMCA will be closing at 7:30 PM on Friday, June 5 for a staff appreciation event!

🎉We’re excited to take a little time to celebrate the amazing staff who help make the Y feel like home for our members, families, and community! Their dedication, kindness, and hard work make a difference every single day.

👉24/7 key fob access will still be available for qualifying members during this early closure.

💦 Summer is almost here - is your swimmer ready?

🏊 Rapid Session Swim Lessons begin June 1st at the YMCA, and registration is open now! These beginner and intermediate lessons are a great way to help kids build confidence in the water, learn important swim skills, and stay safer all summer long.

Lessons are available for ages 3–12 and include 8 lessons scheduled Monday–Thursday for 2 weeks.

👉 Spots are limited and classes are filling - don’t wait to get your swimmer signed up before the session begins!

📣 New Group Exercise Classes are coming to the Y! 💪

Starting June 1, we’re adding fresh formats, feel-good movement, and options for all levels to the Group Exercise schedule.

And yes - non-members can try these new classes for FREE! This is the perfect chance to bring a friend, try something new, and experience Group Exercise at the Y with no commitment.

🧘 Mat Pilates - All Levels | Tuesdays, 4:30–5:15 PM
A full-body workout focused on core strength, flexibility, and mindful movement.

🔥 Barre | Tuesdays, 6:30– 7:15 PM & Fridays, 8:15–9:00 AM
A low-impact class that blends Pilates, strength, and small controlled movements to sculpt and tone.

💪 Power Sculpt Training | Fridays, 6:30–7:15 AM
A strength-focused, low-impact workout using controlled movements and high-rep sequences.

✨ Mobility & Stretch Flow | Fridays, 7:30–8:00 AM
A restorative class designed to improve flexibility, mobility, recovery, and overall movement.

🎓 Last night, we had the joy of celebrating our preschool graduates!

👏Preschool graduation is such a special milestone, and we are so proud of this group of students as they get ready to take their next big step. Throughout the year, we have watched them learn, grow, make friends, try new things, and become more confident little learners!

👉A special thank you to our families for sharing this year with us and allowing us to be part of such an exciting season in your children’s lives! We are also incredibly thankful for our teachers and staff who pour so much care, guidance, and encouragement into these students each day.

💙To our graduates - we are so proud of you! We can’t wait to see all the wonderful things you do next.

💙 Over the past couple of days, we had the opportunity to welcome students from Greensburg Jag to the YMCA!

👉 Students spent time learning more about our facility, the programs we offer, and the different employment opportunities available through the Y. From youth programs and aquatics to wellness, membership, and child care, there is a lot more happening behind the scenes than most people realize.

We loved being able to share how the YMCA serves our community, but also how it can serve as a great starting point for students who are beginning to think about their futures.

👏 While many people may not realize it, the YMCA is a fantastic place for teens and young adults to gain real-world experience in many different fields. Whether they are building communication skills, learning responsibility, working with kids, supporting members, leading activities, or being part of a team, the Y gives young people the chance to grow, learn, and make a difference along the way.

Thank you to the Greensburg JAG for spending part of your week with us!

💐 Happy Mother’s Day from the Decatur County Family YMCA!

Today we’re celebrating moms, grandmas, mother figures, and all of the women who make such a meaningful impact on their families and our community.

As a reminder, Celebrating Women Week continues through May 14! Women are invited to use the facility for free, whether that means getting in a workout, taking a class, walking the track, or enjoying the pool and sauna.

We hope you feel celebrated today and all week long. 💙
