Go check out this cool free event at Rebekah Park tonight!
We are so excited to kick off the inaugural Decco Summer Concert Series tonight at Rebekah Park!
Here is some information to hopefully make the experience as smooth and convenient as possible for everyone who is planning to attend.
1. The show is FREE thanks to Visit Greensburg and our generous sponsors and other community partners.
2. Parking is available at Greensburg High School. Please do not try to park in Rebekah Park unless you have a handicapped passenger. We are keeping the limited parking space in the Park open for the bands and food truck vendors to get easily in and out.
3. Power of the Past is a sponsor and great community partner—they will be running shuttles pulled by historic tractors before and after the show to transport people from the high school parking lot to Rebekah Park. You will not want to miss their Annual event that takes place the third week of August at the Decatur County Fairgrounds.
4. There will be food and drink options! Food truck vendors will change each show but Tree City Brewing is a sponsor and partner that will be there for every show with local craft beer and wines available for purchase. Tonight we are excited to have Joella’s Hot Chicken and That’s a Wrap joining us to provide delicious dinner options for the entire family.
5. The opening act tonight is Matt Schuerman and he will start at 7pm. There will then be a short break before Hard Days Night takes the stage. Their show is an hour and a half to two hours, with a 15 minute intermission so they can change costumes midway through.
6. To purchase beer or wine you will need to be at least 21 years old and show photo ID. You will then get an armband and be allowed to take your drink anywhere INSIDE the roped off area.
7. Please remember this is our first concert. We’re excited to bring an event like this to the community—it has been much requested for a long time—and a lot of people and organizations have worked hard to make sure everything goes smoothly, but there will be hiccups. Please be patient and trust that we’ll do our best to solve them and be better at the next show.
8. If you’re excited to have events like this locally and want to see them continue, PLEASE come out! Support the vendors that are there. Note which local businesses are sponsors and make a point of thanking them and then go support them too.
9. After tonight there are still 6 more shows scheduled this summer. If you’d like to be a sponsor, or if you’d like to get involved as a volunteer, please email us at [email protected].
10. Have fun and be safe!
