Ocean City High School Crew Boosters

OCCB provides financial & logistical support. We organize fundraising events, team travel, and provide ficilities, equipment and training.

In spring, we partner with Ocean City High School for the scholastic season. Unlike parents’ groups in other traditional sports, the booster club plays a vital role in the crew program in every aspect, from purchasing equipment to the weekly logistical support. Crew is a wonderful sport for parents as well as for team members and their extended families. Crew parents share in the rower’s pride and sense of accomplishment, creating memories that will last a lifetime. We encourage you to join one of the various committees that make this program a reality for your child and the school. If you don’t think that you will be able to find the time, don’t worry; there is a task that will fit anyone’s lifestyle and schedule. We welcome any and all hands!This includes members of your extended family. In some cases, grandparents have been more than willing to pitch in and help where needed.

Congratulations to Jada Smith on making history as the inaugural Christopher Blackwall Scholarship recipient!

Her dedication both on the water and in the classroom sets an incredible standard for student athletes everywhere. Wishing her all the best as she takes this next big step into her college journey!

The HOSR proudly announces Jada Smith of Ocean City High School as the inaugural recipient of the Christopher Blackwall Scholarship, a new annual award established to honor the legacy of longtime regatta leader Christopher Blackwall and to support the next generation of scholar‑athletes.

Selected from a competitive pool of applicants from across the region, Smith distinguished herself through her academic excellence, athletic achievement, and exceptional commitment to personal growth — the core values that define the scholarship.

The scholarship provides financial support toward the recipient’s first year of college, university, or trade school, helping remove barriers and open pathways to future success. In response to being awarded the scholarship, Jada wrote, “The HOSR’s generosity and support mean a great deal to me and will help me as I begin my college journey. I am incredibly grateful to have been selected for this scholarship.”

A massive, heartfelt thank you to all of our volunteers, families, and athletes for making today's Chase Race another huge success. A warm welcome and special thank you to all of our visiting teams and their families—thank you so much for traveling out to join us and making the day so great!

To the Captains of the official boats and our Launch Drivers—braving the cold, wet conditions to keep everyone safe—you were total champions out there today! A huge thank you as well to our Dock Masters and Dock Hands for keeping launches and landings running smoothly in tough weather, and to everyone who manned the various land-based roles: without your time and dedication, this event simply could not happen.

A big thank you to Dennis Smith and all of our race officials from Atlantic County Rowing Association(ACRA) for keeping every heat fair, organized, and running right on schedule.

A special shoutout to Coach Stewart for effortlessly handling all the logistics for the race and keeping everything moving seamlessly behind the scenes. And to ALL our Coaches for all the time they give to training, regardless of the weather!

To our Athletes: thank you for leaving it all on the water. Your grit, competitive spirit, and sportsmanship despite the tough weather conditions were incredible to watch!
