Did you know? In 2020, MCHDT created the Diabetes Consortium to bring FREE diabetes education to our community!

This incredible partnership includes Elder Options, Heart of Florida Health Care, AdventHealth, Florida Department of Health, UF IFAS, Transitions Life Center, Marion County Public Library System, and One Health Center, all working together to offer the Diabetes Empowerment Education Program (DEEP).

DEEP is available throughout Marion County to help people living with diabetes or prediabetes gain the skills and confidence to manage their health.

The Community Navigator attended the 28th Annual Family Café over the weekend! It was such an informative and amazing experience, filled with resources, performances, and opportunities for families to advocate and be heard.
If you and your family haven’t attended one of these annual events, I encourage you to plan to attend next year!

The Community Navigator is here to serve anyone in Marion County who needs guidance and/or assistance connecting to resources for a loved one with an IDD or DD. Best of all, these services are completely free!

Join us tomorrow morning at the Eighth Avenue Adult Activity Center for another installment of our "Very Special Painting Series" with Christopher Hershberger.

This series is open to everyone with special encouragement for those with special needs. This workshop is FREE, and all supplies are included thanks to the James E. and Betty J. Huffer Foundation. We hope to see you there!
