🐱❤️ HAPPY NATIONAL CAT DAY! ❤️🐱

Today, we’re celebrating our feline friends and sharing an incredible reunion story!

Meet Kitty! After being lost for 10 MONTHS, Kitty was finally reunited with his owner thanks to one very important thing: his microchip!

While his owner was out of the country, Kitty was being cared for by his grandmother when he escaped and went missing. Ten long months later, his owner received a call from a Good Samaritan who had found Kitty, more than 30 miles away from where he originally went missing! Thankfully, his microchip helped bring him back to the people who love him.

Kitty is a little thin and needs some dental care, but overall, he’s doing well! We got him up to date on his vaccines, and now he’s getting ready for his next big adventure: moving to Miami to be with his owner!

Kitty’s story is a wonderful reminder of how important microchipping your pets can be. You never know when it could make all the difference in bringing your furry family member home! 🏡💗

This National Cat Day, give your kitty some extra love and make sure their microchip information is up to date! 🐾

Last week, we celebrated our staff for Veterinary Technician week! To help celebrate, we had a couple of guest cooks make some food for our team!

A special thanks to our Executive Director Eddie, who made the team biscuits and gravy, and our Shelter Operations Manager Austin, who fired up the grill for some hamburgers and hotdogs!

We appreciate you both taking the time out of your busy schedule, the food was delicious!

🚨 IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT FOR NEW PATIENT APPOINTMENTS🚨

To help us better serve our patients and keep appointments available for pets who need care, we’re updating our scheduling procedure. This policy will go into effect October 27th. This policy update is due to the unfortunate fact that we have had several confirmed appointments no show daily. To ensure we are able to help as many of our communities pets as possible, we had to adjust how we schedule.

When scheduling appointments for new patients, we will require the exam fee to be paid at the time of scheduling to secure the appointment. The payment is non-refundable if the appointment is not cancelled at minimum 24 hours in advance. Cancellations must be made by phone.

Please give us a call if you need to cancel or reschedule!

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we continue providing the best possible care for your furry family members.

"My passion for this career came from watching my family take in and help any animal we could. It gave me the drive to work in the veterinary field and help those who don't have a voice and cannot help themselves.

At home, I have 2 rescue dogs and a tortoise. One of our favorite pastimes to do outside of work is to enjoy our local springs!"

"I became a vet tech because to me animals are so much more than just pets. They're family, and they deserve someone who will fight for them, comfort them, and be their voice when they can't tell us what's wrong.

This career isn't always pretty. It's long days, stressful moments, heartbreaking losses, and sometimes wondering how you can keep going when your heart feels so heavy.

I chose this career because I care deeply, sometimes probably too much, and I wouldn't know how to do it any other way. At the end of the day, I'm proud to be a vet tech. It's not just what I do; it's part of who I am."

"Hi, my name is Kalei! I am a veterinary assistant with a year of experience and I joined this career because of my deep love for animals and my desire to make a difference in their lives. I have always believed that animals deserve the same love, care, and compassion that we give to one another and I want to be someone who can provide that for them!

Being part of Vet Med allows me to learn more about animal health, gain hands-on experience, and and grow my knowledge as I work toward my dream of becoming a veterinarian. I know that this journey will take dedication, patience, and hard work, but I am excited to keep learning and growing every step of the way. My goal is to give animals the care, comfort, and kindness that they deserve while becoming the best veterinarian I can be."

I recently moved from Virginia to sunny Florida and am excited for this new chapter in my life and career. Being a vet tech is more than just a job to me, it's a passion and I'm so grateful to be part of a team that makes a difference in the lives of animals every day.
