A volunteer-based 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization providing and facilitating choices, opportunities, and purpose to success.

Our program includes therapeutic sports, music, dance, arts, culinary classes, educational, social, and life-skills training. Monday Music - 4pm-5pm Maricamp Church of Christ
Tuesday Bowling - 3pm-5pm AMF EAST Maricamp
WOW (Work Out Wednesday) Dance - 3pm -4 pm
Anytime Fitness -Baseline Road

Thursday Taste of Champions Cooking - 3-5pm Maricamp Church of Christ limited capacity 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month***

Thursday - Dance of Champions (DOC) 3pm
One Health Center , 1st, 3rd, 5th Thursday of the month*** make sure you take note of Thursday schedules

Friday Arts - 3-5pm 8th Avenue Senior Center

October 28, 2026: **MCFR Mourns the Loss of Victor Payette**

It is with profound sadness that Marion County Fire Rescue (MCFR) shares the unexpected passing of Victor “Vic” Payette on Wednesday, October 28, 2026.

Vic dedicated more than 20 years of his life to serving the citizens of Marion County, answering countless calls for assistance and helping others during some of their most difficult moments.

A graduate of the Lake Technical College Fire Academy and Central Florida Community College's Emergency Medical Technician program, Vic began his career with Marion County Fire Rescue on May 22, 2006.

Throughout his career, Vic served in numerous fire stations across Marion County, working alongside fellow firefighters and paramedics in service to the community. His passing is deeply felt by those who knew him, worked alongside him, and shared in his years of public service.

“The unexpected loss of someone who dedicated so many years of his life to serving others is heartbreaking,” said Fire Chief James Banta. “Our thoughts and prayers are with Vic's family, friends, and everyone affected by his passing. Right now, our focus is on supporting his loved ones as they navigate this incredibly difficult time.”

Marion County Fire Rescue is working closely with Vic's family and doing everything within our ability to provide support, assistance, and compassion during this heartbreaking time. We also recognize the impact this loss has on those who served alongside him throughout his career and are making support resources available to those who need them.

We respectfully ask our community to keep Vic's family and loved ones in their thoughts and prayers and to honor their request for privacy as they grieve.

Rest peacefully, Vic. Thank you for your years of service to the citizens of Marion County.
